I don't know why Muslims would vote for Trump in the first place...what were they expecting?

More often than not, it is Conservative/Far-Right cac types despising Muslims/Islamic groups and individuals the most with their anti-muslim/Islamic rhetoric in favor of Christian Nationalism.

They must have voted for him because they liked that Muslim ban. The good news for them is that he will be rounding them up pretty soon and deporting them back to their homelands so that they can help bring peace to the region.

Trump isn’t smarter he is a living representation of the white male ego they all worship.
