The fact that people aren't fighting harder to let Ethiopia control their own water supply while the country continues to suffer from famine and drought is mind boggling to me.

On top of that, a dam built over these waters could provide electricity to millions as well as help the economy grow tremendously.

Some of what I read stated that Egypt opposed the dams and irrigation because it would have a negative affect on their tourism economy.

The fact that you would rather build an oasis in the middle of the desert than provide water to grow crops and sustain basic human life already lets me know the deal. At the end of the day, it's all about whose team you're on. And me personally, by birthright, am playing for the lions of Judah lol.

lol, who the hell are you talking about breh? Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea? Ethiopia gave up a lot of territory during the European land grab, and I even disagree with Menelik II ceding for peace with Italy and handing over Eritrea. Ethiopia didn't have the capability to keep territory on that scale sovereign from colonialism. But that's a whole different thread, and I also didn't much agree with Ethiopia's actions in Somalia especially given the ICU's effectiveness in forging peace and stability in the country. The Red Sea is what the Arabs want, that's why I alluded to Eritrea. Egypt's efforts there, as well as the Arab League's efforts were clearly to undermine Ethiopia in the years following WWII. The Nile fits Egypt's objective but Nile Hydropolitics which effect Ethiopia in a negative way is just as helpful to their cause as keeping the country land-locked.
