A couple hundred years ago, American didn't even look the way it does now.... Imagine how things change over an even longer time period with even more trade and war.
Excactly. I also not only lived in Morocco but I'm half Moroccan. Even though most people no longer look black there are still many black people in Morocco. There are even groups on the sahara that are composed entirely of dark skinned people. If you go back far enough there's a lot more dark people and the majority of Moroccans and moors were black. There is even art and photographs to substantiate this. The berbers were always a mixed people with different colors, mostly black, because they didn't use race to identify themselves, but rather culture.

I find it fascinating all the truths that have been uncovered as of late. When I think of all the lies and half truths taught in school I am astounded. The fact that they continue to teach these lies amazes me more.

I mean I don't really know...

But if I'm understanding correctly...

The pre-Arab inhabitants of North Africa were mostly white and arab.. with very few token blacks :ohhh:

:ehh: At least the logic is in line with the logic on a variety of subject round these parts.

It seems strange that these 'barbarians' as the romans called them, Had to eventually 'assimilate' into the arab community after becoming Muslim...... if they were already Arab.

They weren't arabs.. arabs didn't make it over there until Islam. They were jewish, christian and pagan berber tribes before islam came around.

The reason it doesn't make sense to you is because that's not the whole truth. Morocco had no less than 50 tribes and a lot of these tribes had their own confederation. The berbers with the most Caucasoid peoples were located to the north and owe that to the roman and vandal populations, but again these were not all white populations. Arabization was not really done by force with most of the populations willingly adopting islam. The arabs were not all that different from the people who already lived in the region and by the time arabization had spread to that region so called arab peoples were comprised of the same inhabitants as the neighboring regions. Arabization did not completely replace all indegenous culture until way later in the 19th and 20th century, Moroccans got to keep a lot of their original culture. They were completely united linguistically though, but this was not the first time the tribes all united but they were definitely at their peak once united this way under the Alaouites. The berbers were comprised of different groups of people and there were tons of berber groups this leads to a lot of confusion when trying to trace the historical origins of moroccan people. Arabs were blacks that took up european slaves and later on intermarried with them under islam, meanwhile berbers were blacks that had intermarried with whites due to mingling with romans and etc.
