Show was poorly promoted. I didn't know about it and I would've went cos Harlem World is a classic,.

HOwever - this "Europe money" rhetoric old artists put on is a damn lie. If you can't rock 2k people in the US, you won't rock 2k people in Europe. Now, if you can do a number of 500 people venues in the US. for 15 dates, you could probably do the same types of shows x2 but that's just because Europe is more heavily populated.

But don't let these rappers lie to you. Joell Ortiz isn't coming to the UK and making major bread.

These nikkas and cacs see their favorite underground artist pack a basement and think they hot. Action Bronson will pack out a 500 person venue and have these internet nikkas thinking he hot in the streets. :heh:

i wish I could someone to fill a 500 person venue like that.. half these artists you'd be lucky to get 100 people to show up for them. Most people show up to these clubs because other people are showing up.. its a snowball effect.. example its Friday/Saturday night and people wanna celebrate there birthdays and they figure its the "spot to be" so they book their birthday there...

but if I booked Action Bronson in Oakland on non weekend at a 500 person venue on a Thursday for example id say theres about a 0.0001% chance he fills it

thats why when artists ask for the same money to perform on a monday-thursday like its a friday :camby: they dumb as fukk..

artists be having ONE hit talking about they need 10,000 to perform on a tuesday :mjlol: mafukka we'd have to sell 500 tickets just to break even :mjlol: even in a metro area population of 9 million thats damn near impossible for ANY artist to bring 500 people out on a monday-thursday, I cant even imagine any area not LA, Bay Area, NYC or Miami..

feel bad for my promoters in shyt like Wisconsin and shyt :sadcam:

these artists dont got no hustle no more or any brains.. (they cant do math properly.. $5000 x 4 days a week = $20,000 dumbasses instead of hoping you get booked once a week for $10,000.. where ya hustle at ? :camby: )

it depends on who you are, from what i can see most of the rappers that tour Europe extensively are at festivals a lot. i don't know how much they make but there has to be an audience, Mase doesn't have an audience anywhere.

I guess you got a point. But there is alot of truth in that saying tho. Because generally speaking the Europe are a bit behind when it comes to pop culture that stems from the states obviously. I live between Europe & the states, and Europe isn't a big market where they have a Hollywood, a big music business and alot of world famous celebs like the states been having for decades. So people get excited quickly if they get to see someone they like and therefor they rush out quicker.

But with Mase it's just about the "branding"..you gotta look at it like this, if this was 1997-1999 EVERYBODY would've been at this show (goes to show how people love to flock to POPULARITY like i always say..), but since Mase (as a brand) been dismissed, dissed and even at the time his album was called "mainstream" and stuff like that it doesnt hold weight in the long run. I think Europe is the place to go for artist that has built a level of fanbases. Like if Wu-Tang, DMX etc go alotta ppl wouldve came. Why? Cuz Europe is after and they get on alot of their material afterwards but they also love what they feel they represent. Same thing goes for a 50 Cent, Game etc. Game been practically touring in only Europe since he came out.

So it really depends at times.

Longevity in hip hop is rare. To be fair, who was "hot" in 1997-1999 like mase was who is still popular?
