from what I can figure..

1st half of the movie is a dream being dreamed up by the real character who was dead in the bed in the 2nd half

haven't seen it in 10+ yrs tho.. one day I'll rewatch all of Lynch's stuff

i figured so. i was enjoying the dream sequence more and wanted to see it play out. once she put the key in the box it was a wash for me.
