Jimmy young is a classic boxer. Not everybody is a Frazier or foreman where they will always be coming forward. Ali couldn't fight going forwards, deal with it :smugdraper:

Young Ali didn't need to fight going forwards. That would be dumb considering his strengths - reach, quickness, speed and power. It's like asking Tyson to jab and dance - he would get destroyed by longer reach fighters. Hence why he fought going forwards.

Which brings me to my other point. That past his prime no dancing Ali in the video lost the speed and quickness that enabled him to laser in on jabs and quick long powerful rights from far. That would have forced Young to start chasing if he wanted any chance of winning. If you don't chase prime Ali, you get lit up from far and have zero chance to touch him because of his reach, speed and quickness. You're pretty much a sitting duck not chasing a prime Ali.

I keep trying to tell nigs this.

:snoop:

yet you think Ali would beat Tyson, especially with his pull back/with his head up defense :mjpls: yea Tyson doesnt fight like Young. more so Frazier, but it was those same flaws that allowed Frazier to put hands on Ali..and Tyson is Frazier x 10

Yeah but one flurry dont make up for a fight where you took a massive one sided ass whipping, Foreman punched himself and quit from exhaustion, oh and Ali's mouth sapping the confidence from George, thats part of the mystic of Ali though also his mouth made people beleive he was better than he was but it also threw people completely off their game, one of a kind tactician

But If you want to play that game Ali had 3 life and death Brawls with Frazier and Foreman made him look like a random bum on the street putting him down like 5 times making easy work of him......................:stopitslime:

Foremans championship in the 90's should of catapulted him levels and levels above Ali, to win a title when you are fat out of shape, and on a money tour, showed how great Foreman truly was, he gave a roided Evan Fields all Hell, and destroyed Moore's career, he also beat the shyt out of Briggs in a hell of a boxing match despite the BS decision with boxing trying to shun Foreman from the sport which they accomplished. Thats one of a kind talent, with crushing power, shyt at this age id take Foreman over half of them bum ass heavies with his one punch disconnect power

to be fair to Ali here, Ali handled Ron Lyle, who himself gave Foreman some work before being out gunned....and when Foremen won the strap during his comeback, Moore was giving him work before Foreman landed that straight right, although well timed, bailed him out of an ass whoopin

Ali is too mentally strong for Tyson. Ali could take tysons best and dish it out. Tyson would gas eventually and be stopped.

Its sad how so called boxing fans talk about great fighters getting exposed at the tail end of their careers having been through WARS with heavy hitters that have caused the fighter irreversible damage to their body and brain. To that they'll say *well thats just an excuse* No respect. Demons. People who have typically never dedicated themselves to mastering any form of fighting.

Jimmy Young is a good fighter but he lost, unanimously. Being able to somewhat compete where others are embarrassed is not a form of winning, friend.

Regarding that fight both fighters had this to say.

"I weigh 230 pounds, just what I weigh when I'm in terrible shape. I'm 34 and I'm telling you what I did was a miracle, going 15 rounds and beating that young man. I've been eating too much pie, too much ice cream. You wouldn't believe the things I do in training." - Muhammad Ali

"The reason I kept ducking through the ropes, seriously, was to take some of the pressure off me." - Jimmy Young [3]

Its so demonic, friends.

Not trying to make excuses for Ali but he was older and had been in three wars with Frazier and a savage fight with Foreman. But maybe just like Ken Norton Jimmy Young would have always had his number. But Ali did have a few fights that could have went the other way. He could have lost the fight against Shavers too.

jimmy young is probably my favorite heavyweight. he fights like a old fighter from the 20's and 30's with that arms out stance like a black tommy loughran or gene tunney and he is proof that you can be small and still compete and win against the modern heavyweights. watching him outbox foreman is proof that small old time fighters like gene tunney or ezzard charles could have probably beat him even easier.
