Episode 3: "Destined" Thoughts
Sheik Abdullah says, "Good is not a thing u are, Kamala. It is a thing u do."
That's Kamala getting the "with great power comes great responsibility speech," which is another Spider-Man connection the show shares. It also reminded me of when Rachel tells Bruce
in Batman Begins. Kamala says that "I think I have this bangle for a reason.
Obviously I can't be the superhero."
Compare that to what Peter says to Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home when he wants to give the E.D.I.T.H. glasses to him because he thinks Mysterio is a soldier and a leader who saved the world from the Elementals, whereas he thinks Tony:
"Must've known that I was not ready for this...The world needs the next Ironman.
And it's not gonna be me. I mean, I'm a 16 year old kid from Queens. It needs to be an adult with some experience and that's good like Tony Stark and like you."
It's a perfect parallel of the two characters who have inherited the responsibility of being heroes at a young age and the obvious doubts they have in their own abilities when they live in a world that had / has Ironman and Captain Marvel.
Kamran really committed to calling Bruno "Brian." Maybe he really don't know his name?
Lines of Laughter
Bruno: I don't really know how I can help a group of ghosts...and their average looking son
*Kamala lowers eyebrows which reveals a perplexed look*
Black sous chef: Absolutely not. mhm mhm no.
*Puts onions down and dips* (We need more black characters like her in horror movies)
Auntie Ruby: What are u talking about? U can't see anything. U know the DMV revoked her driver's license?!
Jurassic Park raptor kitchen vibes when the djinn are hunting Kamala in the kitchen
Kamran: Get Brian out ov ere!
-
Bruno: I swear he gets my name wrong on purpose.
I guess we'll never know.
