Yeah I think a lot of people assumed this because I think it's the same director working with Gosling. I actually liked Only God Forgives more
Yep people were expecting Drive Part 2 but got the anti-Drive where Gosling's character is a pathetic dude with mommy issues and everything that you love about the Driver is thrown into the trash. I was sold right from the opening, everyone's great in it too. Kristin Scott Thomas is an amazing bytch in it.
WHY DO FOOLS FALL IN LOVE- I was already a Frankie Lymon fan at age 13 because I use to Stan Michael Jackson and one day my father got out his record player and was like "Im going to let you hear who MY Jackson 5 were when I was a kid" and he played Goodie Goodie and I was like

THE INKWELL- NOBODY talks about this flick but it had a great all black cast (Larenze Tate, AJ Johnson, Duane Martin, Joe Morton, Jada Pinkett) very good film always enjoyed watching it.
HANGIN WITH THE HOMEBOYS- NOBODY fukks with this film but the shyt was funny as hell and I watch it every time I need a laugh

It's also pretty much the complete opposite of revenge tropes because the 'victim' is absolutely despicable, the 'hero' is a coward and the 'villain' is pretty much an Asian version of Dirty Harry. The role reversal in the movie is insane and it's pretty obvious how that failed to connect with audiences who expected to see Gosling being a real hero and a real human being again.
Ppl hated it cause it made no sense. Everyone loved the visualsI enjoyed it too. don't let the coli find out though
