I wanted to like that movie so much and it is still awesome visually but its like Zack Snyder went down a rabbit hole of bad choice after bad choice and no one was around to smack him on the head and tell him to "cut it out!".
If the movie was just about an elite squad of real life anime chicks living in some fantastickal world who were doing battle with samurai statues and steampunk Nazi zombies then this would have been a cool movie.

I never understood the hate for Nicholas Cages 'Gone in 60 Seconds' It was a very good old school style Steve McQueen style driving movie.

The music is what made this enjoyable for me ... Also the key is to watch when you're really high
I love From Hell. My only issue with it was Heather Graham is a terrible actress.

The Book of Eli may have been one of the most biased reviewed movies of all-time imo. Critics seriously put their personal beliefs into reviewing the movie rather than reviewing aspects of the movie.
As soon as they found the religious undertone in the movie, they threw it out and failed to use their imagination/be thought provoking/lateral thinking regarding anything about it. They just proceeded to slap it with a 20% rating.
I could understand if you don't like the revealing part of it, but the execution/pace/art/scenery/acting/etc. of the movie alone deserved more than the ratings it got.
