Although far from trash, "Donnie Darko" and "The Usual Suspects" are pretty much unwatchable if you've seen them more than like three or four times. And this is coming from somebody who absolutely LOVED these films after initially viewing them.

That "Donnie Darko" soundtrack, though... :ohlawd:

that has nothing to do with whether it's a good movie or not
That wasn't the reason why i don't like the movie much anymore. When I was younger I stanned that movie hard but I got older and realized the movie wasn't that deep. I don't think it's trash but I'll see people quote it on the net like they're really saying something.

I love the antimaterialist message it has some dope ass quotes, I don't know why you think it's pretentious

"once you've lost everything you're free to do anything" is just a good quote, and true

All that stuff has existed before the book was written so he wasn't saying anything new. I forget what eastern philosophy all the stuff comes from. Still a good movie, maybe overrated is a better word. I don't think there's anything wrong with being materialistic if that makes someone happy, if that's how they get fulfillment in life. The movie picks a side and says being on the other side is bad. I don't think there's a good or bad side and don't like how the movie glorified it's position on material possessions. What I did take out of the movie was do what makes you happy and don't get sidetracked by shyt that doesn't matter to you. Living less comfortable doesn't make you better.

Butterfly effect...thought it was super deep when it came out...watch it again like two years ago it was just...bad...

Troy...thought it was dope in theaters but watching it recently Pitt's acting is laughably bad in the movie...

The Dark Knight rises...got caught up in the hype when it came out...watched it recently and it has so many plot holes in it I just cut it off...

Actually...all of Nolan's movies aged badly to me except Insomnia...:scust:

The Usual Suspects definitely comes to mind. First time I saw it I was like :ohhh: @ the ending like everybody else. Then I rewatched it some time later and thought to myself: "Wait, so everything I'm watching right now is basically just some bullshyt this guy is making up on the spot?"

The twist is cool at first until you realize it pretty much devalues the rest of the movie completely.

Memento and prestige hold up just fine

Forgot about Memento you are right...

I think Jackman's and Bales acting carried the prestige more than Nolan's directing did so I give them way more credit for that film than Nolan...

I think if anyone other than Jackman and Bale did that movie it would not have been good...at all...

Movies that have David Bowie in them as Nikola Tesla can't be bad.
