I still find Candyman to be one of the scarier horror movies. shyt just has an eery vibe throughout. Same thing with Hellraiser. Clive Barker >>>

I saw Mama in the theaters last week...it reminded me a lot of Insidious. Nothing groundbreaking, but a fun romp, with a couple of decent jump scares. If you really felt Insidious like that, you'd probably enjoy Mama as well, hell, they are practically the same film.

i miss a traditional haunted house film..start off with the subtle noise and shadowy play then mix it with some demonic/possessive mental carnage.

I feel like a traditional haunted house movie wouldn't get support this day and age...not from movie goers but from studios that think you need deaths, blood and extreme visuals to make a horror. Even the later Paranormal Activities take the visuals to extremes considering the whole point of the original was to start with subtle spooks and not get extreme until the very end.

Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
I really enjoyed Insidious. Up until the last 20 mins or so. Seems like the writer/director got lazy and feel asleep at the wheel. It could've been so much more effective had they not taken it to the dream place.
Did any of y'all notice the little boy ghost standing against the wall in the house when the mom was trying to find out where those footsteps were coming from? shyt had me like :ohhh:

Not jump out of your seat scary, but probably the most disturbing movie I've ever seen in my life

I sat like :merchant:for the entire last half to three quarters of the movie. It starts out like a sad drama, and then turns into an unsettling creepfest.

This sums it up perfectly...there are some spoilers to the plot

kk here are a few that i think are scarier then insidious:

the GOAT horror movie..even though its old its sooo effective, i first saw this at 12 and couldn't sleep for a week..i even get chills watching that ish today

if you haven't seen the american remake or the original thai version i recommend the thai vers 100%..the story is decent (rare for horror), atmosphere is creepy as hell and some really good hop out moments

the goat korean movie in my book is a horror movie..imo its better then oldboy and the story is absolutely amazing...scary as fukk and good scare moments

Just saw insidious for the fukk of it the other day.... for the most part i would hear people shytting on it.

that movie is legit.... i almost want to call it a masterpiece of a horror film.

i recently also saw the conjuring and found it not as scary as insidious.

caught the tale of two sisters and that was more of a thriller to me.
