Insidious is the first movie in a long time that had me generally shook during some parts and didn't have me with sitting with the :comeon: face for the entire 2 hours.

Sh1t made my lil 7 yr nephew actually cry like a b1tch and he's seen everything there is from Night of the living Dead to Nightmare on Elm street (thanks to me, I'm tryna make him fukked up psychologically when he gets older cause I'm demonic and hate kids :shaq: )

Name drop some joints brehs

That's because you are a bytch. Insidious was not scary to anyone who doesn't have two labia and a clitoris.

The first half of Insidious was good horror. It was jump heavy but still had a creative concept and legit moments that left you with goosebumps and ish. The second half, RUINED THAT shyt...completely nullified anything the first half had built up.

Sinister which is by the same guys I think, had a similar feel imo. It actually lasts a lot longer before they drop the ball on the scariness...you just really have to reserve any notion of realism because the protagonist is an idiot even by horror movie standards.

For legit scary ish though, I stick with japanese horror...Tale of Two Sisters was just a dope plot all around and there was one called Cadaver that I really enjoyed. I've seen too many horror movies to really be scared any more, but those two definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.

P.S. Poughkeepsie Tapes is wack imo. Torture Porn at it's finest.

Haven't seen Insidious but Home Movie was probably one of the best 'recent' horror films I've seen in a while.

For a small taste of Japanese Horror, there's these shorts.

I found a lot of Faun No Tane(manga) stories to be creepy.

I like Halloween(Original), Psycho(Original), The Devils Rejects, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(Both), The Strangers, and various other films but I don't know if they will scare you OP. A lot of horror these days is more so about gore than actually getting inside of your head and presenting an idea to you that can freak you out to the point where you stay up at night and think about things that could happen to you if you turn off your lights. That's scary. That's the type of stuff that scares me and just generally freaky and out of place things in everyday life. Right now typing at the computer if I turned to my right and saw someone standing outside looking at me through the window it would freak me out. Because something like that is so random and it could happen easily. Person probably wouldn't even wish harm on me but the idea of someone watching you like that is creepy.

How long had they been watching you?
Why were they watching you?
Who was that anyway?

Bunch of questions would immediately come to mind. Doesn't have to be a bunch of blood and guts to be scary.

But I digress. Japanese/Korean horror is usually pretty creepy. They build up to the scares and create a mood throughout the films where things just feel tense and uneasy. I like that in horror films.

I thought Sinister was scarier than Insidious. The music that played in that flick was :merchant:

It's been a minute since I've seen Insidious but I remember what creeped me out about it was the whole lucid dreaming/leaving your body sh it. I had a lucid dreaming experience when I was a freshman in HS that was kinda crazy so that's why. Other than that I didn't fnd it very scary. :ld:
