But the thing is she is crazy AF.. If it wasn't religion to would of been something else like I think my kids are being controlled by aliens" or something. This is a story about mental health breh. Religion isn't the problem in this story
I said the samething and then they started defending the aliensso a known mentally ill person does something crazy and it's religion's fault?
Had she killed them because she thought they were aliens would we be blaming aliens or the X-Files?
This is as ignorant as when people say "he needs Jesus" after hearing about some gang banger doing some dirt.
Hoist responsibility on to the people not the excuses they provide.
yeah, more like there are hundreds of millions who are religious here in this nation and they aren't killing their kids... but let's take one story and paint a very broad spectrum of people with it. I can easily take a video of the little girl in China getting ran over by a van and no one helping her and say, "LOL look guys, this is atheism!!" But it would be rather childish for me to use tragedy to 'score points' against a competing ideology.

If you had a book about atheism that led people to believe that casting out evil spirits from a person was a real thing then maybe you'd be onto something. But no one says things like because atheism doesn't have such wacky fukking ideas.
But if you have an ideal where such things are possible in a person's belief then it probably deserves some of the blame. A bit like the cults that commit mass suicides. Their beliefs in spaceships coming to save them had nothing to do with killing themselves? They were all crazy people?
They may not have been crazy but manipulated. Now you're really reaching. If you had a book about atheism that led people to believe that casting out evil spirits from a person was a real thing then maybe you'd be onto something. Getting all hyped every time a crazy person does something bad in the name of religion is childish.
@ religious folks having a monopoly on wacky ideas.
Well one is a belief and one is a state of mind. On can be the root of someone's actions, one is often used as justification for someone's actions. We're ridiculing religion because it perpetuates a ghost story as being a possibility. Now any batshyt crazy person can claim demon possession is well within the realm of their beliefs. Well we get hyped because we're calling this shyt stupid. So where do you draw the line between crazy and religious?
just stop caping breh. exorcism is a rleigios ceremony. this incident can be chalked up to religion. your 'god' is too much of a punk to take care of this satan
god letting satan run around fukcing with his 'children' is akin to taking your child to a day care run by a sex offender
