It's speculative to think this woman is insane:bryan:
You hate the idea of religion so much you're throwing logic out the window

It's speculative to say the same thing would've happened if not for her religious beliefs.

She may be crazy, but religion was still an enabler in this situation.

But the thing is she is crazy AF.. If it wasn't religion to would of been something else like I think my kids are being controlled by aliens" or something. This is a story about mental health breh. Religion isn't the problem in this story

We don't tend to hear so many stories of parents killing their kids because they think aliens are in control but still plenty where it's religion based.

Granted she could be crazy anyway but religious belief tends to make some sane folk do crazy things.

just stop caping breh. exorcism is a rleigios ceremony. this incident can be chalked up to religion. your 'god' is too much of a punk to take care of this satan

god letting satan run around fukcing with his 'children' is akin to taking your child to a day care run by a sex offender

That was just an example Breh. You here stories about moms killing their kids all the time with no religion involved.

Yeah but like I said, you can have people who aren't otherwise crazy doing stuff like this because they believe demons taking over their children to be a real possibility rather than any other logical explanation.

You also have the folk who try their best to pray away illness and turn away medical assistance.

True if she is crazy, her religious views could have given her ideas for beliefs she could have made into delusions... just like the one she lived out

But then you can't be ignorant to the other, definite risk factors for psychosis like family history, substance abuse, pre/postnatal infection, obsteric complications, child abuse, head injury etc. which all have NOTHING to do with religion

you are probably religious so this story is making you defensive, but be real breh... there is obviously a religious undertone to a woman killing her children in the midst of an exorcism. even the idea of an exorcism is based on religion. without religion exorcism doesnt even exist...

Crazy ass bytch. I know this is a dumb question I'm going to ask but, "Where was the father of these children?" :snoop:

Upon further reading, I see the husband separated from crazy town, which probably drove her more insane. And this is definately a religious crazy person. Can't separate the facts in that one.

Avery’s Facebook page has smiling photographs of her children and several, serious postings about faith, God and the Devil.

On Nov. 21, 2011, Avery wrote that the world was unsafe.

“People are being deceived left and right every day and don’t care to realize it,” she wrote. “They think it’s safe and everything’s a game when this world is owned by satan himself who wants to dumb us down to think there’s no consequences for what we do.”

At the time, she was living in Hagerstown, Md., said Pastor Dan Thornton of Maranatha Brethren Church there. He met Avery through a program that provided groceries, haircuts, dental care and other services to families. Members of the church gave Avery and her family rides to church and bought furniture for them.

The family was forced to leave its apartment and was going to leave behind the furniture, Thornton said. But he and others retrieved the furniture, sold it at a garage sale and gave the money to Avery’s family. He said she projected confidence but suffered from mental illness. Church members regularly gave her rides to mental health counseling sessions, he said.
