North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
See that’s where the line disappears because There was no scene showing Cheese giving up Joe. Cheese betraying Joe wasn’t properly built up.

Episodes were always showing how Marlo was moving in on Joe’s connect, so that’s why I side with Marlo wanting to be the main one and deciding to kill Joe. He was always obsessed with being the Kingpin. He took Bodie’s street because they were doing well. He didn’t have to do it because Bodie was independent, small fish, and would never compete with Marlo. But Marlo wanted it because he was on his Napoleon steez. :ld:
Actually there was. Joe asked Marlo if Cheese gave him up.

Above the fray.
He gave up Prop Joe and probably told him everything. That’s why Marlo killed him. He even had to get the ok from the Greeks to kill Prop Joe so you know they needed a good reason. Joe being responsible for the shipment getting jacked was bad enough. Then you set him up to get robbed just to trick him into joining the co-op.

I’m surprised Slim killed cheese because he could’ve given slim up as well.
No, Marlo didn't get the Green light from the Greeks to hit Joe.
He played it off to them like he was uninvolved when he met them to get connected.
They saw what it was, but that didn't concern them.

I interpret it differently.
The Greeks gain nothing by Joe being hit. In fact, because he was low key and dependable they stood to lose by dealing with an unknown.

But thanks, will go back and watch that season again.
Ran across this vid yesterday and it made a lot of sense imo.

Marlo knocking off Joe was inevitable. Dude didn't want to play 2nd or partner to nobody.
