bill murray's acting wasn't overrated. if anything, all the performances in that movie are highly subdued, almost to the point where it seems like they're not acting at all (just like charley said). i think it works like that because the way the movie was written; there's a lot of space in the movie and open sections, it's not cluttered with action and dialogue. it's more of an atmospheric piece where you sense the tone of a scene more than focus on the words exchanged...
and as for nic cage, the problem with him is the movies he's getting casted for now, with his acting style, he needs to only sign up for certain movies, not take everything that's thrown at him. he acts like how he is in real life, he's an unstable man...
