Drag On had crazy hype off guest appearances then that shyt dropped nikkas was like “that’s it?” Lmao
Yeah I never seen anyone praise that album. For me personally, Drag was good in small doses and to a smaller degree great as a feature like Jada or Busta or Luda, but couldn't craft an entire cohesive great album

Opposite of H2O had a few bangers nonetheless (Spit These Bars, title track)

For me...

Turk's "Young and Thuggin"

Back then as a Cash Money STAN, After a couple of years of waiting on Turk to drop something, This shyt floored me with how mid it was. The stan in me couldnt even justify this shyt, It didnt help that HotBoys as a group was pretty much dissolved by the time this dropped. Shiiet Juve was leaving, BG wasnt around as much. Hell I dont even think there's much of a hotboy presence on this album outside of a couple Wayne verses and Mannie shyt talking

They built that brand up then dumped it right in the trash. That was nasty I guess something crazy must have happened behind the scenes.

I remember they had a big internet buzz and muhfukkas were TIGHT when the album dropped and it was as wack as it was :mjlol:

all the hype and then the official single is a wack ass clipse attempt at a “club banger”...Liva and Sandman not even on it

Sandman quit the group and started shytting on the album in interviews..,the impression I got is that they (the clipse) finessed the budget for the Re Up album and used it to promote the next Clipse album that was dropping...and half assed the Re Up Gang album and threw some thrown together Bullshyt out

yea but cash money was already mid at that point.

even tho "its in me" was great, i knew it was a 50/50 chance that his album was gonna be meh, once i read him in the source saying he did the album in two weeks. so i knew it was all gonna be new stuff recorded at like the same time as the lukewarm albums cash money was droppin. he didnt sound hungry at all either.

cool album tho. just very hit-or-miss. like the rest of the stuff they were doing at the end.

I didn't like Over either mainly because that shyt was overplayed they even threw it on 2K but a lot of people fukked with that song.

Find Your Love was :trash:

But Light Up was big in NY not just because of the Hov verse but because it was part of the whole lite feet era it's a classic track.

Then you got shyt like Fancy, Up All Night and Miss Me that was everywhere back then and songs like The Resistance, Unforgettable, CeCe's Interlude album is good money to me.

Cole debut was trash and he had a lot of pressure to deliver coming off them tapes and was getting compared to Nas. The best songs on Cole shyt were already on FNL (like you said label shyt) and he also had a bunch of corny ass bars talking about leftover lasagna and outfarting him and shyt. :hhh:

Only songs that held up and was classic Cole was Breakdown and Sideline Story. Workout was also a good song :hubie: fukk what Nas said

I was listening to "Light Up" tonight for the first time (while thinking about your post) and the hook came on. I heard "Light It Up" all the time when I was younger but I had no idea it was a Drake sample until now. I felt like somebody smacked me in the mouth. :dwillhuh:

Also, "Over" and "Find Your Love" are both classic, no arguments, please.

I just remember the singles which were cool, loved Trouble with Fiend, a hard NYC/crunk combo
