i think my favorite scene for me was johnny cage vs scorpion... the shadow kick, the spear, the teleporting to the next stage. whole shyt had me dying laughing.. shyt got real when scorpion was deliverin those kicks to johnnys cranium like nothing, like nikka this is my house!!!

Fantastic videogame adaptation, probably the best. It actually manages to appropriate the essence of the games, has some fun performances, and while it's certainly not a serious movie, it takes itself *just* serious enough to not feel like a big joke.
^ This whole sequence was great.
It's a shame that the second wasn't up to par. They complicated the storyline...first one worked because it was so clearly defined : Win the tournament or earth falls. It also kept everything in one area with all the characters together. The sequel had too much going on.
Edit : Damn, beaten on the Scorpion fight.

Bad writing or not, it's funny when you think about it. I never really paid attention to it as a kid but when Liu is fighting Reptile, Johnny went ghost.

Lowkey Johnny was the realest cat in the entire film. When he died five minutes into part two, even as a kid I knew we were in for some trash.
