Are you talking about MK II: Annihilation? Because every cast member (with the exception of Robin Shou and Talisa Soto) left that project and was recast. :mjlol: But for the real, even though it's not saying much, MK 1 is the best video game movie ever made.

EDIT - Well...idk...Street Fighter was only good because of Raul Julia. He practically made that movie memorable. I feel conflicted now, brehs. :patrice:

Nah breh the reboot they were talking about doing after that Mortal Kombat rebirth short film and that same director was offered the chance to make the tv show which was then going to turn into the new movie. He left the project last year so the project is in limbo right now. So I was saying that with the next movie, if there is indeed a next movie now since it's in limbo, the cast may not be pitch perfect like this one.

legendary for its time.... classic when i was a kid.

The part where Scorpion yells, ":birdman: GET DOWN HERE!!!" and kicks that beam, causing that platform to tumble and Cage falling, dude was thorough as fukk. :wow:

And to this very day, anytime I'm walking up a long flight of stairs, I get to the top, let out a little laugh and say "ah no more steps"

OP, the trailer man, that's seriously one of the best trailers of all time. When they introduce everyone towards the end :banderas:

Also, yes, Annihilation was retarded. IDK if they were trying to do fan service by including as many characters as they could. That's why the 1st one worked so well, it was based on the game MK I. The sequel should have just focused on the MK II game and storyline (introducing Shao Kahn, adding Mileena/Baraka, etc), and it could've worked.

The Truth
This whole post x10 :salute:

If there was ever a movie that needed some sort of remake or something, I think that would be dope. They had the different version for the internet direct or TV or whatever, but a proper remake would be :salute:
I agree with this whole heatedly

They had the web series that looked pretty intense. But I think, if this Mortal Kombat X does as well as I hope it does, they need to do a big budget remake.

Not enough love for Swag Tsung in this thread. You can say it's not saying much but Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa was easily the best actor in the movie. Practically embodied the character, and killed it everytime he was on screen.

They'd need a new director. The guy they had was passionate about it and just walked away and still hasn't said why he walked away so who knows what the status of that movie is right now

I was like 14 when this jawn came out. I fukked wit MK 1&2 hard back then and MK 3 had just come out a little before the movie. This was one of the best theater experiences I ever had, everybody was hype in that jawn! nikkas went bananas during the Johnny Cage/ Scorpion fight, especially when Scorpion was stomping the shyt outta Johnny! Plus the Liu Kang/ Reptile fight set the place off cause nobody expected ninja Reptile to be in the movie! Soon as you heard "REPTILE" we was like:ooh::ooh::ooh: And when Liu hit that bicycle kick:salute::salute::salute:Then the end just capped that shyt off perfectly!!! Went right to the fukkin arcade afterwards downtown on Chestnut St and played MK3 for the first time. So of course I was hyped for Mortal Kombat Annihilation. Took my little brother to see that on his birthday, the most fukkin disappointed I've ever been in a theater! Felt like a was watching fukkin Power Rangers or something. Not enough Sub-Zero and Scorpion, shytty special effects, characters that served no purpose, that Liu Kang/ Shao Kahn Animality bullshyt:snoop:In the theater you could feel the disappointment in the air! I left that theater feeling like somebody robbed me:sadbron:
