I don't get why people are shocked that Kronika is back. She couldn't kill Raiden because he was an elder god, and since she's a titan she is not able to be killed. Liu Kang clearly got cocky thinking he had the game figured out, but Kronika is a master at this shyt.

Kronika clearly was killed though in both the Liu Kang and Shang Tsung ending. Liu Kang didn't erase the villains, he altered their destinies according to Geras in the Keepers of Time trailer.

What we're seeing in the exchange between Kronika and Shang Tsung is an altered version of their original destinies. Kronika is no longer Keeper of Time obviously because Liu Kang is.

Continuity wise that shyt makes no sense. Depending on ending she got glassed or shredded by glass, and then in MK11 she said Shinnok can not come back from getting decapped.

Shinnok wasn't gone. They still had his head in the Bone Temple. Kronika NEVER remade the universe because she was killed before she had the chance. Remaking the universe still brings all these characters back. As Keeper of Time, the only thing Liu Kang can do us alter their destinies to fit his universe. He doesn't have full control of their choices. And even if he kills those who don't comply, there still remains some villains who are constants. In this universe, Shang Tsung appears to be the constant.

Also, in the prologue, we don't know if this is just a flashback to give us backstory or whether this happens in real time in the story.

Interesting, Kronika doesn't introduce herself as Kronika, but as Shang Tsung's deliverer. There was a leaker, who has been right about everything so far, saying Shang Tsung would be guided by an entity (in the leak, it wasn't Kronika, but I won't spoil it).
