he half assed drills, conditioning, you name it

after his loss he took what i said to heart and ended up decent

the truth is most kids are too immature and dont understand personal responsibility

and folks like you empower them by saying ohh that coach is mean. nah breh. That coach was soft compared to the strength coaches ive seen at HIGH SCHOOLS let alone at a D1 program

if you gonna cry about a foul out, you dont deserve to play

yall act like this is some right to play, its a privledge to play ball for these programs :upsetfavre:

miss me with the "difference" there isnt. As long as coach isnt striking you maliciously or straight up cussing you(which he wasnt) i dont see it

youre given a scholly to play high level ball and accept to be coached, these kids get recruited to play the game BY the coach in question yet you want me to believe he aint know what he signed up for? tough break
Folks like me empower them to learn proper technique and the value of hard work, we just do it without screaming in their faces and embarrassing them. It's easy to say kids are lazy/immature and then try to justify dressing them down. It's hard to take the time to actually teach them how to do things right without abusing your power.

There's a clear difference between being hard-nosed and degrading, and you can definitely degrade an athlete without hitting him or cussing. I've seen it and experienced it myself. If you really can't see that difference then I don't know what to tell you.

And as I've already said, just because that type of shyt happens often, that doesn't mean it's ok or that it should be accepted. Nobody is acting like kids have a right to play sports. You're attacking an argument that not one person has made. However, it is reasonable to expect to play a sport without having your coach shytting on you like the Morehead St coach.

You think all coaches, especially the ones who degrade players, actually show their true colors during the recruitment process? Please. I've seen firsthand how a coach who recruits you can become a completely different person once you commit to their program and you're on campus.

These coaches should not be exempt from criticism, but at this point we may have to just agree to disagree.

well see thats the difference in situation

intramural soccer with 12 year olds isnt the same as 18-21 year old MEN playing D1 basketball

if youre grown and ready to cry over a foul out...

The difference between the situations is that it's less acceptable when the kid isn't getting paid. You think it's okay for a grown ass coach to berate, belittle, embarrass and shove a kid in front of a national audience? That was too much, and he got reprimanded for it.

but its ok for them to do it off camera?:beli:

this WSHH generation need some tough love on camera

I don't see the big deal :manny:

My football coach in high school would lay into us like that all the time.

Another prime example of today's soft ass society.

and u took that shyt:ld:
I played sports in high school and never allowed a coach to disrespect me

also checked anyone who outranked me in the Army that tried to get loud

my father taught me to be a man and check anyone who tried me

ya father didnt tell u to stand 4 yourself?:ohhh:
