She handled this situation poorly. She should've notified the Principle, Police, and Parents of the trouble maker. Then filed a complaint against the student. They now have her on video making threats.

Also, It isn't good to make threats towards people you don't know. It's one thing to tell the students to leave your child alone. It's another thing to make threats towards the Parents of those students.

defensive to what claim? please state a claim and show how that applies to this case and what the damages are or respectfully, you don't know what you're talking about. i dont care what "sector" you are in. the law applies to the same to all sectors and its always show proof of negligence and damages or you have no claim.... or you have a "nomimal/nuisance" claim that isn't worth much, especially not enough to where i would put my kid through it.

side note: it sounds like the districts you work in are just handing out money for hurt feelings and that's how you based your opinion. if thats the case i'd advice to hire some tougher attorneys. that money can probably be better spent

There are probably a dozen charges I could use to sue the mother/school/district. I'm 1000% positive of this because I've seen cases like this play out in real life.

If I have to consult my lawyer for what exactly those charges would be, you're gonna foot the bill. Otherwise, do your googles and smarten up.

If the bullying has been documented online and in school, the mother actually has one hell of a case. Especially in this current climate of kids committing suicide and getting killed by bullies.

If I were school officials I would be more concerned about damage control on student bullying than an irate parent.

But the fact that a parent had to go to this length to address a female black child being bullied by white male students...
If the mom is smart, she would make this a national issue and go to the newspaper and local press with the grievance.

Play the "I don't know what else I could do!" card.

The racial element to the bullying (if there is one) could be deemed as a hate crimes as well. She could take her daughter to get tested and if it's deemed that the events at the school have created PTSD in the student, she could have an even better lawsuit. If they arent addressing the bullying, all roads will lead right back to the school. This mother could skate by completely scot free.

A.) the school should never have allowed the bullying to go unaddressed

B.) the school should never have allowed the mom to address the kids and she did so without any interruption.

The school holds absolutely liability in either case, and if she is smart she can spin it that she had to go to these lengths in lieu of the school's negligence, ESPECIALLY in this era of increased school violence.

The only way I know shyt like this would fly is b/c I've been in several cases this past year where the schools did not address bullying and similar shyt happened. The school is lucky b/c one of my female Hispanic students got beaten up on the way home. Well her brother was head of the MS-13.

They tagged our school. And drove by shooting during the day for weeks. Four boys were beaten so bad that two of them are permenantly paralyzed and would have been killed if law enforcement hadn't arrived. The others had stab wounds.

Yep. She actually has a better case against the school than the reverse.
Schools have paid out MILLIONS for bullying related lawsuits. She needs to lawyer up. A lot of times we take shyt into our own hands b/c we don't know our rights.
