Nobody in Kentucky playing over Bamba, he's a 5 star, 96 ESPN grade, 3rd in ESPN 100, projected one and done top 5 pick, NBA record 7'8 wingspan. shyt, Kentucky would have game him the opportunity to play with Nick Richards another NYC prospect (93 ESPN grade, 16th ESPN 100, projected lottery pick) in that frontcourt. Kentucky is a historical basketball powerhouse and the go-to for one and dones. To me personally choosing Texas over Kentucky and Duke is odd.
Yeah, him and his brother have the same mom. They have different last names because his brother has his moms last name (Johnson).
despite his ranking, nothing is guaranteed in terms of having the touches he would want. they already had PJ washington, jarred vanderbillt, kevin knox, and nick richards in his class and returning gabriel, sacha killeya-jones, and tai wynyard. why bother having to deal w/ potential chemistry issues when there's a glaring hole at a better school in Texas with jarrett allen gone or at duke with only bolden and vrankovic at center. Duke overall made the most sense in terms of playing time, education, and prestige. Texas definitely 2nd, and UK a distant 3rd.
I wonder why they have different last names, you sure they have the same mom? kinda confusing why ibrahim and sidiki (another headcase before he transferred from zona) would hold onto the last name johnson.
