I was in my hometown when his first album dropped, and I heard really gangsta-ass thugged-out Blacks and Latinos blasting that guys album when I was out driving around town.
Same thing happened with "Get Rich or Die Trying"--every car was blasting that album.
And that's what this is really about. it's the streets that set the trends. They determine what is cool in Hip-Hop. The suburban kids just simply follow suit. The streets were NEVER into the conscious or underground hip-hop sound. That has always been a skater/hipster thing--at least on the West Coast.

No, the thread is about the lack of intelligent and skillful rappers in mainstream hip hop. You can't use a wack rapper to prove someone else has intelligent music. You Get it? Its like me trying to say Lil Wayne is an intelligent rapper because he isn't as dumb as Gucci Mane.

Lil B isn't a mainstream rapper. He has a cult following on the internet. Kreayshawn did have a hit, but that was well over a year ago. Lets talk about the rappers that are actually getting attention. The Nicki Minajs, the Lil Waynes, the Drakes, the Rick Rosses, the Tygas, the 2 Chainz. They far outnumber the Lupe Fiascos or any other mainstream rappers considered intelligent.
