Yup...one thing I learned when making beats is when you discover a sample, roll with whatever it is that caught your ear in the first place. Don't try to be a mad scientist. if it's necessary to get the loop sounding right (Cuz some things sound good on their own but awkward looped) or get it to what you envisioned then sure, but you can't worry about impressing nerds on WhoSampled lolThere's no need for Dre to flip his samples. You don't mess with perfection.
Have obviously needed to do what he did to get things to sound right to him.
Neither is right or wrong.
Speaking from experience, what I imagine Hav was doing with this and SHook Ones was playing the loop on his ASR at different keys and just seeing what worked until he found something he liked. He was probably like, "I like this piano melody, but I need something to fill in the end of the loop " and that's where the other pitches came in
