Manfred don’t want more cable

Unless he’s good with more games streaming on MAX!

I know this is wishful thinking, but Manfred has a chance to do something interesting as fukk right now.

He could make MLB Network an over the air/free channel on Tubi/Roku/etc and broadcast their primetime games themselves. They'd need to do all of the ad sells on their own, but if they let the teams do their regional deals and take over the prime time games they could cut out the network middle men.

Bring back a Baseball Tonight style show on their own. I genuinely think that ESPN ruins sports for fans. The only reason they play nice with the NFL is because they got taught some lessons.

Really if they just lease the Network to a streamer (Netflix/Hulu/Prime/Max/Peacock/Paramount/Tubi?) and add a Sunday/Wednesday/ night marquee game to the network. Plus the AppleTV Friday Night Game and the Fox Saturday Night Game

It's a total win for them

Fox isnt a good partner. During the pennant race (August, September) and the playoffs, Fox already has football locked in on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

TNT/TBS is the best option since they arent tied to big time college football or NFL football in the fall.

I mentioned Warner in the MLB thread. I agree, they need to jump all over the baseball opportunity. I'm just saying the Network itself leased out they can replace losing the ESPN days.

Oh, for sure. MLB Network should be airing games at 6:30/7pm and 9:30/10pm every night to be honest. Baseball needs as much eyes on it as possible.

Problem is, MLB Net isnt on every cable system. I know its not on Youtube TV, cause I would be watching if it was.
