This retractable roof phase of stadium building needs to be phased out. I don't believe they've ever had the roof open at AT&T for a Cowboys game or at MB for a Falcons game. And why would you want a roof open in hot ass Vegas? They better pray HAGS never has to go down
It's stupid as fukk for a city like Vegas. I just checked their weather and it's between 94-99 for the next week and it's only May. That roof will never be open.

Are evenings in the early spring and fall decent though? Doesn’t it cool down a bit?

I agree, it might as well be a dome, but I imagine it’ll be open for select night games.

Moving isn’t going to fix the fact that they been a terrible team for a minute
Who in Vegas is supporting a garbage team, might as well stay in Oakland where you were actually one of the classical franchises in baseball and maybe you get lucky and actually field a good team eventually

Side note, why don’t people steal front office people and scouts from the astros and dodgers, y’all see they be always having good teams and farm systems

It's been a minute since I've been to Vegas but I went one time in September and it was still in the low to mid 90s in late August/early September. And one thing I learned while deployed to the Middle East. Yeah, it can be 100+ during the day, but when the temp drops 35-40 degrees at night, that shyt feels like pneumonia weather. Looking it up, it looks like its an avg 30-35 degree temp diff during football season.

What's the point of a retractable roof for 2-3 weeks out of the season? The fact they're only building a 30K seat stadium is already a sign that they aren't anticipating strong attendance.

This whole thing seems goofy and poorly thought out.

This is the shyt I always say to people who think every stadium in the Northeast needs a retractable roof

that's cuz foolish fans love having the option, damn if it costs them a shyt ton of money for it.

They made the playoffs 11 times since 2000 and were mostly recently in the postseason in 2020.

The A’s philosophy is to rely on their farm system to produce young controllable talent to compete and then trade those players for more young, controllable talent. It’s worked for them quite well.

They've had a good front office but Beane has taken a step back..... Which has resulted in some questionable trades recently. And one of the worse farm systems in the MLB. Not sure what the plan is currently they have nothing/very little to show for after trading Olson, Chapman and Murphy. Has to drive A's fans crazy.

BTW.....I kind of feel bad for Beane he's caught some heat for lack of playoff success(some deserved), but its not his fault he's had garbage ownership. Its actually impressive he's made the playoffs as much as he has with such a low payroll and his hands tied behind his back.

It ain’t good enough,
They only won one playoff series during those 11 years, being satisfied with losing wild card games is why they in the position they in now

The owner is telling the lawmakers here in NV that have the final say on the move that they will open their wallet and actually be competitive if they get their new stadium....he might open his wallet but it wont the be way the big dogs do it... he's trying to win like the marlins did or KC did a few years ago.

Feel bad for Oakland tho...I got cousins from there that love that team...a damn shame they couldn't even keep 1 franchise... that's crazy
