Told you man. We talked about it in another thread. If anyone is in a position to compete with Twitch or YouTube, it’s Facebook. Their user base is too strong. They’ve been pushing original content and work towards streamlining their video content overall. The community aspect of Facebook is a huge plus and organic reach is going to be easier on Facebook for a day one streamer than on YouTube or Twitch. Twitch is still the top for game streamers but if Facebook leverages their base properly they could be a serious competitor.

There are rumors that ninja and shroud both got offered double on their contracts and still declined

Plus... it'll be way more black and brown people that explore Facebook's platform just off rip.

That's ok. I'm thinking about how this impacts streaming beyond just gaming. Facebook "Gaming"/Streaming is going to be hit with black people, just wait.

This is a nonsensical move for MS, they can easily stem the losses from Mixer while awaiting the new console. I don’t get it...

It all depends what division mixer is in. If it’s part of the Xbox/Entertainment division then it makes since. They’ve taken huge losses due to Xbone and is pushing heavily into the cloud. Mixer was just bleeding money since it’s inception, and didn’t have the media penetration like YouTube or Twitch.

‘Mixer had the slowest growth despite signing ninja and shroud to huge deals. Better to cut losses now
