I don't see the problem with the rant.

It had to be said officially out in the open so everyone knows, there is absolutely no mistake about the rules in place with the protocols. That they had already been spoken about, which is also warning 1 (privately) and now this is warning 2 (publicly). Most people only need to be told the first time and then you have the idiots who think the rules don't apply to them or don't take due care and attention.

Yup completely different scenarios. Cruise is asking people to take protocols seriously, protocols he helped put in place as a producer, and when they don't, he has every right to be irate. He's the captain of the ship and its his job to let them know the bullshyt won't fly.

I respect him for that putting people’s health and money on the line isn’t cool, much less on the set of a franchise in front of, or even around, the guy who’s mostly responsible for you even having the gig to begin with. Good on him for calling out the bullshyt and putting them in their place.

Best friend worked at a place that had to shut down because of covid. All these people talking about beating his ass if he yelled at them like that...or they wouldnt stand for it.try going two-three weeks with out a paycheck cause someone wasnt taking precautions during a pandemic seriously. And Cruise is one of the few members of the crew that would be ok if things got shut down.
