Somali cop who got the same charge got sentenced to 12 years. Yeah it was a white woman etc, but I think they will try to get the same here in this climate:

Mohamed Noor, former Minneapolis police officer, sentenced to 12½ years in fatal shooting of Justine Ruszczyk - CNN

that is wild...these scenarios got nothing in common but they both 3rd degree...i wonder if the prosecution going to use the same reasoning too...are they going to say this cop "overreacted and failed to assess the situation properly" when he was kneeling on the man neck for 10mins and not checking to see if he was still alive and people begging him to stop...

I've spent hundred of hours watching True Crime shows since the lockdown, so I feel like I know a little bit about this...

1st degree is out of the question in this situation because it has to be planned or premeditated.

Floyd's murder is typical (lack of better word) for what a 2nd degree murder charge would be, but I got a feeling that a 2nd degree charge would've made it harder for the DA to bring him (the murderer) to jail as early as they did. Despite the video evidence, you have to prove the the murders full INTENT (law speak). The problem with charging 2nd degree from the go is not having sufficient evidence then having to downgrade the charge to manslaughter or the murders getting acquitted, both worst case scenarios and potentially will spark even more outrage.

I don't know what the reactions have been since the charges but I think the hope from the DA's and City's perspective is, charge him with 3rd degree murder/manslaughter, they're able to arrest him immediately, then hope the protests dies down. IMO, if this case from now on will be free of corruption (it wont be), I think we can see an upgrade to 2nd degree murder. I think the story about them possible knowing each other will reveal itself even further. :patrice:

No doubt.

“shyt is real” hits different when you’re frontline

I read about the LA Riots as a youth.

I’m driving around my neighborhood seeing black owned business signs plastered everywhere and plywood on pretty much every business you can think of.

Let’s do this once

I’m here.

I live here. .. I use these stores and resources that got destroyed routinely.

I’m empathetic to people that look like me who might not be able to get their meds, food etc. ..

I’m blessed in the sense that I have access to what I need as many others may not unfortunately

But please do not get it twisted. .. this shyt isn’t on the people. It’s on a department that chose to repeatedly turn a blind eye and deaf ear towards its people.

I completely understand exactly WHY shyt had to get broken, people are only gonna “ask” for so long before some shyt gets burned . .. windows get smashed, doors start getting kicked in.

History is a great indicator

I been in damn near all the marches over police shootings since 2015 here.

Clearly that marching shyt wasn’t getting thru so here we are.

I’m using this thread to vent.

stay safe out there breh :salute: you went to how many marches since 2015 where they weren't listening, they listening now :manny:

It's over and done with. Crying is not gonna change it. Blame the cop and the D.A and move foward. Start a gofundme or sue the cops and D.A for being the reason your shyt got destroyed. People doing everything in their power to take the focus off the cop and D.A.

Rioting and looting got them to charge and arrest that fakkit cop. I'm seeing black businesses get $200k+ from thousands of people from the black community including me. Now let's get back to celebrating getting that cop arrested and making trump bytch ass and the cops and D.A bow down and give a public apology
I celebrate that cop get arrested as well somewhat ( I believe in the death penalty so I feel he should be executed. So that won't be possible). But pointing a downside to the protest doesn't make it a distraction. It's pluses and minuses to everything to most things.

2020 is the Twilight Zone, breh. I've never seen so many cops speak out against their fellow "boys in blue".
Them fukking pussies scared. They know they smell the bacon cooking all the way from Minny. They trying to make sure that fire doesn’t come close to their stations so they trying to “ slide “ with the people.

Exactly these nikkas buggin. We should be PROTECTING these black businesses. NOT destroying them.
