This is correct. He was cool with Kidd and more specifically, close with Sean Sweeney. The caveat being, Giannis simply didn't have the pull in that era that he does now. So, he couldn't sway the ownership triumvirate we had (Lasry, Edens and Dinan) from dropping Kidd.
