A feature doc about controversial pop group Milli Vanilli has been picked up by Paramount+.

“For over 30 years, the story of Milli Vanilli – in particular Rob and Fab – has been reduced to sensational headlines,” said Korem. “With this documentary, we pull back the curtain on pop music. Featuring interviews with the real singers, record executives, the producer mastermind behind the deception and exclusive interviews with Rob and Fab, we unveil the truth of this complex, exciting and dramatic story. I’m thrilled that Paramount+ shares our vision and will bring this film to audiences around the world.”

“Finally – the true story of Milli Vanilli has been told,” added Fabrice Morvan. “I’m thankful Luke Korem and his team went to the lengths that they did. The journey I returned to during the filming of this documentary didn’t leave any stone unturned. At last I can close this chapter in peace… Get ready to take a walk in our steel-toe boots.”

Music business was kinda strange around tha time. Milli Vanilli caught flac, but they werent the only group who was fake. C&C Music Factory (Everybody Dance Now) same set up. Black Box... etc.

Martha Wash was a main go to for voice overs for some of these groups. Fat chick who could sing her ass off, but visually wasnt what these industry people wanted you to see. Now you have people like Lizzo..and its no big deal.

From the old doc I had watched back then, the irony was that they could actually sing. The suits just didn't like their voices or whatever rationale they used.

yep. She was all over the radio. She had 2 hits and neither credited to her as they used another woman to do the vocals in stage performances. It's crazy.

So that means they are all trash. Technotronic also had models lip syncing lead singers songs in Pump up the Jam.

Lol.. I read up on them too..

The funny thing about them is they used a model.. african chick to front that song visually. The actual girl who did the song looked like a lil dude. The producer used her visually in another video for that album semi big song..

Shyt was weird.. this her. Her name is Ya Kid K. She was the one who really did PumpThe Jam and the other singles
