I'm thinking about joining either the Marines or the National Guard. I'm 23 and I'm wondering what you guys think would be the better choice.

Couple questions I had:

Which has better benefits?

How hard is it to get a bachelor's degree on active duty?

Is 23 too old for the Marines? Would I be :flabbynsick: among a bunch of 18 and 19 years old at boot camp?

Decide if you want to go active or reserve first bro.

They benefits package is different depending on which and then further based on the branch.

And 23 is not to old for any branch not even close.

first off i have to ask what are you looking to get out of this? what are your reasons for wanting to join?

For the most part I'm looking to jump start my life and get away from the everyday monotony of my life. I'm looking for something new and different. IBut at the same time I wanna be able to get my bachelor's degree so I can have a career once I get out.

But how hard is it to get a degree on active duty? And I keep hearing the National Guard has better benefits than the Marines. Is that true?

I've done all my education while active and have half assed and now have an AA. You can go to school with 100% TA. But that is something that you have to way pros/cons about.

Sound like Larenz Tate on Dead Presidents. and then Chris Tucker replies with "well gettin yo damn head blown off is different" :pachaha:

But seriously you gotta have alotta patience and discipline if you wanna be a Marine. those fukkers are crazy str8 ^
