I’m team Tyson forever but

I understand why he was :whoa: about fighting George even in the 90’s. LISTEN to HOW he said how he’d stop him. You’d think he was talking about a total bum with how matter of fact he said it.

Foreman had too many problems with cats like Lyles to beat a prime Mike imo.

prime foreman had stamina problems and didnt pace himself...to his credit it wasn't like he went the distance all that much in the first half of his career..i mean he is prolly the first heavyweight champion to never fight 15 rounds in the 15 round era....prime tyson did not have those issues...he also had head movement and fast hands....prime tyson would be very competitive with prime foreman

foreman to his credit was able to make a successful comeback at an advanced age but a lot of it was matchmaking..some of those fight had hiccups

tommy morrison outboxed an old foreman clearly....alex stewart (someone who a prime tyson disposed in 1 round) gave foreman the worst beating of his life and came very close to stopping him...michael moorer was winning handily before he got ko'ed....axel schulz got jobbed against foreman..shyt there was a whole scandal behind the schulz fight..lou savarese (who a fading tyson ko'ed in 1) damn near beat foreman on workrate..and arguably could have won that fight too...but mike tyson, who is greater than all these fighters, would have trouble beating an old george foreman.....dont believe that for a second :heh:

Tyson lost to buster Douglas and he ducked foreman

Boxing math never works

Foreman destroyed fraiser with no effort and lost to Ali who barely beat fraiser and lost to him

I think Tyson blitzes big George before he really gets a chance to get in the fight.

Foreman was that dude, but he was slow and his punches were telegraphed as fukk. He made it work for him, but against a smaller guy who can get inside and under and between those bombs while delivering his own faster bombs, he'd be food.

All that shyt about Tyson being shook of dude was just Mike listening to the old heads keep repeating that Foreman's style was all wrong for him. It's partially true, but styles don't make fighters. Fighters make the style. Frazier and Tyson had comparable styles, but both were better at certain things then the other. Joe was mentally tougher and had more endurance than Mike, but he wasn't as quick and explosive, nor did he have the offensive arsenal that Tyson had. I think Tyson definitely fairs better against Foreman than Frazier did.

Boxer punchers usually clip swarming type styles, but I feel like Tyson was better at his style than Foreman was at his.

I’ve heard and read the stories about Tyson ducking Foreman in the early 90s, but I just think it mostly came down to Tyson being with Don King, Foreman being with Bob Arum, and King always demanding options on fighters once he promoted/co-promoted them. I know they did work together for Tyson-Tillman/Foreman-Rodriguez (first fight post-Buster Douglas), but King low-balled Foreman and probably demanded options on future fights. The Muhammad Ali Reform Act changed that, but that’s how it was back then.

I lean towards 1973-74 Foreman to beat 1986-88 Tyson due to styles, but I can’t watch 40+ year old Foreman get hit so often against guys like Alex Stewart, Tommy Morrison, and Evander and think he would beat Tyson.

Stewart turned George’s face into hamburger meat.

Boxing math doesn't work with heavy's and not with a heavy with the stopper of Foreman......

The Foreman that gave roided Holyfield all hell destroys Tyson IMO
