I just don't see Broner ever wanting to fight Floyd, so I'm not even thinking about that matchup (the possible promos we'd get though
)
I just wish Thurman would win a fight that actually gets his name thrown in the mix.
Same here man, I'd love a Mayweather/Thurman fight.
However, I just don't see it happening. Not enough time to really get that matchup. Earliest would be September of next year, and I don't think that will happen. Even if it did, not sure Thurman would be ready yet.
There is one possible (though improbable) scenario that I thought of...
Thurman KO's hist next opponent. Then next year he finally gets a crack at 2 of the top opponents in the division (Maidana, Alexander, Ghost, Brook, Khan, etc). He wins both his fights, ups his fanbase, and picks up a belt. Meanwhile, Floyd wins both his fights, and decides to walk away. Thurman however, is on his Ric Flair shyt (to be the man, you gotta beat the man) still wants a crack at Floyd and continues to call him out. He has enough backing for it to make an impact. Now Floyd has already said he'd come back for a final fight if the money was right. So just imagine the old ATG Floyd trying to make history going up against the guy who's gonna take Floyd's spot and wants to put the old veteran away, something nobody has ever done. So Floyd agrees to make his return for 1 final fight in 2016.
Unfortunately, I don't see that playing out like that. So many parts need to fall in place, and I don't see that happening,
What sucks is that Thurman had chances to build up his name more taken away from him, and they really weren't in his control
1) He was supposed to be on the Floyd undercard, but his shoulder injury prevented that from happening. That really coulda put his name out there to those casuals who only really watch boxing when Floyd is on.
2) He was in line to fight Porter next, but Brook took those plans away
