Kay is the voice of the Yankees I’m sure they do a lot of baseball

I don’t buy that they tailor the show around Rosenberg lol
The Kay show covers a lot of baseball too tho. Rosenberg to me isnt the big game changer anyway and adds follow-up commentsry to mike and don who control the narrative

Mike Francesa's show is not national.

i never said they tailor the show around peter
the fact is... he ( peter ) has brought a younger audience which aren't much baseball fans to the show

and the result - has been very successful

:yeshrug: it is ... what ... it is :manny:

I think its hilarious that in the recommended videos there's carton making his comments and NO ONE gives a shyt..do him and boomer still talk?

Cmb talking about dog being irrelevant, while getting paid millions and more than cmb combined.

I would say he's decent with pro basketball too; just that the Knicks/Nets haven't really given him anything worth discussing the past few years... His rants on Phil Jackson's laziiness were :banderas: tho.

He's passable on college football too, I think he did a show on CBS back in his early days. But in NY, nobody really cares about college football until the end of the season when they're worried about who the Jets or Giants might draft.

He is also good on golf.

That doesn’t mean anything. If Peter has no knowledge of baseball in this city, the show will suffer and he couldn’t survive. No one is saying he can’t like or prefer other things. Those are bonuses. Knowing baseball is a prerequisite in NYC. It’s like saying you could do sports talk radio in Dallas and not have to know football.

Almost identical scenarios. I am fascinated how Mike handles this next week. It'd be hilarious if he just didn't bring it up at all and just started his show like nothing happened over the past few months :skip:
Look this has been discussed by the previous show, my old partnah dawg, umm I'm back and that's that, I'm not going to discuss any further, back aftha the update from mink

Mike is a baseball/football guy, everything else he's fukking winging it.

Yeah he’s a casual nba fan I’d say. He will watch the playoffs and some regular season games here and there but he’s not a hardcore follower.

I remember hed always make fun of Simmons for being a “nba nut”

What are you disagreeing with? :mindblown: Are you calling Kay a liar?

A week ago they said this.

Are you forgetting that Joe is 64, in shyt health and damn near ready to walk away himself? Joe said a week ago him leaving early means he can go golfing more. Them being extended an hour was more or less a compromise. Joe basically golfs, watches the Mets and goes to sleep.

Also, Evan does the Saturday show solo at the same time. The schedule allows him to go to Mets and Nets games (even if it’s a little late)

if they said that - then they were simply saving face

last year they both was all in on taking Mike mid day slot - even Mike himself said he wanted Joe & Evan to have it

( again - they been filling in Mike mid day over the summer vacation for many many years )

I think that has a lot to do with the basketball scene in NY though. Knicks & Nets just haven't been very relevant the past 15 years.

He always says the hottest crowd in NY is the garden when the Knicks are relevant.

I’m talking following the league in general not just the ny teams

they fill in, but that doesn't mean they want that to be a permanent thing. Other people fill in for Mike too. Kim Jones is one of them, and that was who Chernoff originally wanted for the female host of the afternoon drive

Yeah I think they offered the afternoon gig to Kim and Chris Simms first and they turned it down
