Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
Yeah I just looked up the newspaper article(damn, it's 22 years ago now, it feels like it was yesterday to me), Riley went to Checketts and wanted 10 mil a year X 5 years PLUS 25% ownership of the Knicks. Checketts counter offered 5/25. That's a huge gap and that wasn't getting over come.

In hindsight, I almost wish we'd have gave it to him... :banderas:

Yeah, Riles knows how to build a winner. It was probably the right move but I understand why they didn't give him a quarter of the team(the team was valued at 205M in 1996, if he got it his slice of the Knicks would be worth 750M now).

He only ended up getting 20% of the Heat FWIW, plus 15M a year and other perks(I believe Arison purchased his Miami mansion)

Mike getting heat from the PC police about women can't coach in the NBA but he doesn't give a single fukk :pachaha:

Last of a dying breed.
Although I do not agree with him, I could definitely see a female coach specifically in the NBA as opposed to NFL/MLB. I LOVE that he is sticking to his guns, we all don't have to agree all the time. That would make life utterly boring.

RIP Hello Dear :jawalrus:

Nah Mike had a lot of women agree with him yesterday

Mike draws the barefoot and pregnant women demo not the feminists

Plus in a weird way Mikes not trying to be chauvinistic Mike is actually sticking up for women and is overprotective of them like their children

I think he thinks they would be in grave danger around as he said unruly NBA players

Yeah the PC police picked the wrong guy if they think he's gonna submit to their power trip and apologize

He's got fu money and leaving he's not scared of anything

"We all dont have to agree all the time"

Unfortunately in today's PC world if you don't then you're labeled a hate monger and an "ist"

No female coaches in a male college basketball program, with their numbers dwindling in female college basketball program. How is that possible?

Yeah, I heard Mike the next day after I posted that to. lol
There is a female coach in San Antonio. Maybe she continues. Pop seems like a pretty liberal guy could she one day take over? Just saying with the popularity of women's college b-ball someone could eventually get there. But you and Mike are right. It's not likely.
