Tbf he's a casual NBA fan at best so I don't expect him to remember the teams Karl coached. Not like the 96 sonics are something he needs to talk about on wfan a lot
Bruh, the mothafukka constantly blabs on and on about how he's been "doing this for 30 years"...and there was a period way back where he even covered CBB too. Plus, he and Dog covered bball extensively in the 90s when the Knicks were good.

No excuse, but fukk George Karl anyway.

Mike and Chris covered the Knicks a lot when they were good in the 90's...remember his MSG show? :pachaha:

Of course but his job was to cover the Knicks not the whole league

You're thinking from a fans perspective. Mike isn't a huge NBA fan/historian

He can tell you about the few all time greats he saw play but his casual fandom isn't good enough to remember the losing coach of a team from 20 years ago

Riley was on some fukk shyt though, faxing in his resignation on the yacht with Arison in the Caribbean somewhere. They roasted his ass for good reason.

Exactly... Shunning them because they rightly called him out and didn't blindly ride for him even though "I was good to you guys".... :martin: Riles sounds like a bootleg Mafia don who wanted undying loyalty... Mike was absolutely right, "Pat, you FAXED IN YOUR RESIGNATION!!!"

I mean, I got no hate for Riley going to Miami. He wanted ownership and full control of basketball operations. He wasn't gonna get that here. It is what it is.

How about being a man and telling Checketts face to face that you were quitting and going to Miami? And then he had the nerve to shyt on LeBron for bouncing to Cleveland... this guy's got some fukking balls I tell ya :pachaha:

I remember that's what most of the fans were saying when they called into FAN; they wasn't mad about him getting what he got in Miami, but not doing it face to face? that's what had him looking real funny in the light.

Yeah I just looked up the newspaper article(damn, it's 22 years ago now, it feels like it was yesterday to me), Riley went to Checketts and wanted 10 mil a year X 5 years PLUS 25% ownership of the Knicks. Checketts counter offered 5/25. That's a huge gap and that wasn't getting over come.
