you can't be the g.o.a.t if you lost in the finals
and thus, it is Jordan the G.O.A.T and 2nd thru 5th spots are up for grabs.

Not ever losing in the Finals is overrated to a certain point.

Making it to the finals>>>>losing before U get there. I have no problem with Jordan going 6 for 6 cuzz he 3peated twice but the Duncan never losing in the finals hype is :stopitslime:

Son has Kobe as the 3rd best player ever

I'm done.........unbelievable, nikkas aren't even trying to be objective.

I like when you're not being that passively aggressive Kobe hater Wilt. I wish U would be more honest like U are in this thread instead of those veiled underhand compliments at Bean or drive by shots at him. :salute:

i agree to an extent the never losing thing.. however
the thing Jordan and the bulls did that separates him from every single nba player/team in regards to the finals is the fact that once he reached the highest point of his profession, nobody defeated him.
what i mean by this is, nobody knocked him off the top of the mountain after his first championship. he retired in 93 after 2 successful title defenses, came back and won in 96 and 3peated again (the 15 games he played in 95 surely do not count as him being in championship form)
every other player has either been defeated in the finals OR defeated in their attempt to defend their title
shaq, kobe and the lakers in 03 (didnt defend and spurs won that year)
Bird in 85 and 87 failed title defenses
Magic/kareem in 81, 83, 86
lebron with 2 L's
wilt in 67, 73
duncan/spurs in 04,06,08

etc etc etc. there are players that can say "i beat (insert player) in the finals" or "our team defeated the (insert team) in the finals")

nobody can say they ended the bulls from defending their title, and nobody ever beat jordan in the game's biggest stage.
kobe/magic/wilt/russell/bird/duncan/ all the all time greats either took finals losses or failed at defending their title. only the g.o.a.t can stake that claim

edit- and that goes for ANY sport. football, baseball, nhl, soccer, etc

I have a problem with Duncan stans harping on his 4/4 record in the finals. As for Jordan I don't really have a problem cuzz he 3peated twice but he retired twice after his 3peats...he quit.

lol@ using the word 'quit'... retire != quit.

quitting = lebron against the celtics in the conference semis

quitting = kobe in 06 vs the suns, after being up 3-1. dude scores 50 in game 6 and gets called a ball hog, gets his feelings hurt, and decides to ''teach eveyrone a lesson'' by showing them what happens when he doesnt shoot... so he puts up a total of THREE shots in the entire 2nd half and the lakers get blown out by over 30 points

that's quitting. i'm glad we cleared that up.

:what:He quit playing basketball like he quit vs the pistons in the late 80s. I know insecure Jordan fans don't like to bring up that game:manny:

I'ma 80s baby.....Kobe is the 2nd best player I've ever seen play without having to go back and look at old footage. Take it how you want too.

:yeshrug:

Matter of fact. The top 5 players I've ever seen "in real time" is:

Jordan
Kobe
Magic
Hakeem
Shaq

funny how you ignore everything i posted about nobody ever defeating jordan in the finals OR stopping any of his title defenses while every single player in nba history had it happen to them
or how kobe let his team lose in order to prove a point
aka how he blatantly QUIT and shot 3 times in the 2nd half

but u wana point out some obscure game that happened before jordan even reached championship level... u know, the way kobe had already won 3 titles thanks to shaq by 2006?

tell me how any of jordan's playoff games EVER were as detrimental and harmful to the bulls like game 7, 06 playoffs vs suns was by kobe.... go ahead...

a playoff win or go home series clinching game, and dude shoots 3 times in the 2nd half. to prove a point. because he was "upset" that people called him a ball hog for the previous game.

here, try this too:

game 6 win or go home elimination game in 2008 against the celtics
in the nba finals
must win, or be eliminated

this is what happened:
7-22 (31% fg), 3-9 from 3 pt (33%), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 turnovers

Kobe has faced better defensive teams then anyone in the NBA finals. Top 5 defenses every single year including 3 number one ranked defenses(and 2 of the top 5 all time in the 04' pistons/08' celtics). It's really Hard to compare the him to other greats when they have played under very different circumstances
