Is this Team Canelo or Arum playing ball, I suspect Arum trying to cause a legal battle and prevent Cotto from jumping ship right away, Team Canelo quietness post Mayweather strikes me as odd

Golden Boy already mentioned Canelo is under contract. It's just stupid posturing. I don't see Cotto going to fight Canelo (at least yet). They've been talking about this Martinez fight before the Delvin fight was even mentioned. My belief is they already had this fight lined up no matter what happened between Floyd and Canelo. Kinda seems convenient that both Canelo and Angulo are coming off losses and have nobody to fight, and Canelo apparently has 3 fights for 2014? :mjpls:

The issue is Cotto generate big money fighting the Rodriguez of the world, Martinez is not a ppv star he would be headlining the show as is he would vs Canelo, but why make his usual 8 million fighting a Martinez who was neer a ppv star and his stock may have drastically been diminished from his past few showings, when he could make 15+ mill with ppv revenue and all fighting Canelo, a fighter his brother almost knocked flat on his ass......

Cause the plan is to fight Martinez AND Canelo. The Martinez fight needs to happen now. That dude has 1-2 fights left tops. Canelo gonna be around for a long time. The fight can wait a few months.

BTW, Golden Boy already announced Angulo is fighting Jorge Melendez on the Broner/Maidana PPV.
