Like I said to @patscorpio He's paid his dues to choose whether to vacate or not. He's trying to maximize his income before he retires. Can you blame him at this point? I'd be way more critical of him if he were for arguments sake in One Time's position trying to play that.

"Paying your dues" has nothing to do with wearing an organization's belt around your waist though breh. If he DOESNT want to fight GGG (who's the WBC Interim Middleweight Champion, the #1 Middleweight contender, and the mandatory Middleweight challenger for the belt), then he needs to drop the belt.

You cant do whatever you want to do when you're a Champion in Boxing. You must defend the title against someone in your division, or be stripped of the title. Cotto is looking at Timothy Bradley and Brandon Rios as his next opponents.....2 147lbers, while he is the 160lbs Champion. It makes no sense.

No one is questioning if he's paid his dues or not. We're basically saying either shyt or get off the toilet. Since when does the Middleweight Champion Of The World look to only defend against Welterweights 2 divisions below?:dahell:

Another thing....he's not maximizing anything by fighting Bradley or Rios over GGG breh. Let's be honest here. GGG is already a bigger name than both of em and Cotto vs GGG in NYC in June would be huge. Him fighting Canelo is off the table.

Yes you can blame him because if he has no intentions of defending that belt against a middleweight he needs to get the fukk on. :camby:

We could have an undisputed middleweight championship fight by years end if Cotto gets with the shyts or sits the hell down

You don't pay the fee for the strap then say no organization owns your career. shyt makes no logical sense.

The real belt he has is the RING magazine lineal belt, and theres no fee for that buddy.

LOOK, lets all ease up on Cotto. His whole career hes showed a willingness to fight the best. Hes a future hall of famer, great guy, warrior, the whole 9. We all know hes not a middleweight and he does too. We all know he cant beat GGG and he does too. You guys are acting like hes intending to stay at 160 and fight everyone aside from GGG. He wont. DONT WORRY GUYS- eventually he'll give up the belt. Why would ya want to see him fight GGG anyways given the fact that we all already know the outcome??? RJJ won a heavyweight strap, but did I want to see him fight Lewis? Hell no. So lets just give Cotto his props- he fought and beat THE middleweight champ, at a time when many were calling for Floyd to do the same and he didnt take the challenge. Cotto will prob fight Bradley, and then Canelo, and sail into the sunset unless he wins both fights and Floyd wins his next fight and then the two meet in a rematch. Cotto has paid his dues. He deserves to be selective and make the most amount of money he can. And again, lets all chillax. GGG dont need Cotto or his belt for the world to know GGG is the real middleweight champ. Long after Cotto's gone GGG will still be doing his thang.

Again bruh, he's earned his way to choose whom he wants to fight at Middle/Jr/Welter. He couldn't do that under Arum. I think he's gonna choose which fighter makes the most money. He can fight Bradley or Rios in Cali/Texas & make some good money & not risk his health after boxing. I can't say I don't blame him at his age & after what Margarito did to him. He's earned it fam

I wouldn't be posting here if I didn't know that "buddy" :troll:.

Everything else I agree with.

Cotto:camby:

Only Miguel Cotto fans would allow such:wow:

GIVE UP THE BELT IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO DEFEND IT AGAINST OTHER MIDDLEWEIGHTS!:pacspit:

Roy Jones Jr vacated the strap after winning it:ufdup:

He never defended the Heavyweight Championship Of The World against a Light Heavyweight like Cotto is intending to do in June (defending the Middleweight Championship against a Welterweight):camby:

All those other :cape: excuses you can keep breh. It's pathetic what Cotto is trying to do, which is why he will be stripped after his next fight if it isnt against GGG:manny:

Thats speculative. There are more than enough interviews out there of folks saying hes a great guy outside of the ring. A shrewd and tough negotiator. But a genuinely cool person.

Thats speculative bro. None of us know what Cotto's next move is. You just think you do. So lets all fall back and wait for him to make a decision before roasting him for nothing. All we know FACTUALLY is that he intended to make an optional defense against Canelo and Floyd. Thats it. So stop it.

I not aware of that at all. Cuz when I was in PR last year, everyone I spoke to praised him and held him in high regard, saying he does alot for the country and his people.

All in all tho guys, I really just feel GGG doesnt need to fight Cotto or the green belt. I feel the REAL reason they want to fight Cotto is they want to break into the PPV market and Cotto is a established name. Plus its literally no risk for them and huge reward. At the end of the day, everyone considers GGG the middleweight champ anyways. Belts dont define him.
