Major corporations consider different acquisitions all the time. They were probably told from the top that they need to purchase some studios. They probably considered everybody at the beginning. This really isn't surprising, and not a red flag.

In the end, MS bought up a bunch of publishers/developers with IPs that existed before them and on multiple consoles.

They’re no different than tencent or embracer, they are just a bunch of different companies they bought making their own separate individual products

They're their IPs and they wouldn't exist without them. Spider-Man is the exception, but we all know what happened there. Word to MS wanting to work on their own IPs and passing on the license.

But I was legit curious what games have Sony made that people really loved and want to play. Cuz it felt like the shot from a Sony Stan was asking MS to do something that Sony ain’t doing

God of War ranks among the best of them. And that came from fostering in-house talent. MS can do the same thing. Buying up publishers as a shortcut is detrimental to the industry as a whole. They're trying to accelerate the Netflix model for video games and that's going to lead to the same (or worse) problems we're seeing there.
