Call of duty players don’t care about “the best version” they don’t even care if the games are good
I think they would legit care about stuff like exclusive perks, early betas, skins, and possibly getting game day one on gamepass. However, I don't think it would be wise to make series exclusive because what's stopping EA or an in house Sony studio from making a major dent on COD's dominance.

I honestly don’t think it matters at this point. Nothing will change ultimately, if anything warzone is just gonna get more popular

We knew that it would still be on PlayStation. The issue going forward would be all the exclusive dlc, perks and game pass. Sony knows that if Microsoft puts call of duty on gamepass it’s going to cause a dip in there base. They can’t compete with buying a game at full price vs a monthly reasonably priced service of access to the game.

They will. Their PR is in the "say the right things to expedite the acquisition" phase. After that's over? All bests are off once their contractual obligations are satisfied. They didn't pay $70b to "share" with their competition. They want to starve them out and force them to follow their game plan to bleed them dry. It's classic MS.

Lol MS would lose hundreds of millions not having COD on PlayStation

MS would only be punishing themselves while damaging their biggest acquisition

They will have the f2p game on there, but the stand-alone titles are going exclusive. They can shoulder that loss to severely damage their largest competitor. We saw this already with their EEE strategy in other markets in the 90s.

Sony is making COD a huge deal, business wise, while MS is downplaying the entire deal. There's many ways MS can structure the roll out of future COD titles to make their version the "better version." I think Sony will have to align themselves with another shooter, 1st or 3rd party no matter what once their contract is up.

I understand why everyone is focused on COD in this deal but surprised there's not more talk (maybe I've missed it) of the other games especially the mobile games which bring in a big chunk of cash.

CoD being on every major platform (fukk Switch) helps it. Sony's already bought into Epic games so they're in with Fortnite.

I just need another shooter franchise other than CoD since EA has destroyed Battlefield :mjcry:

They're not pulling CoD off playstation. It's the platform that sells the most copies. These execs aren't idiots.

:what: how will they suffer when sony has more half of the install base

You dumbasses from a business standpoint Sony will no longer benefit from the marketing rights which bought them 100 of millions easily. Sony afraid that COD on a subscription model will (most definitely will) stop their profits. They have advertisement agreements for the next three games but the money grabbing packs exclusive shyt which bought Sony money etc... is over.
