That’s not just a comparison to 2023. It’s compared to that timeframe throughout the history of xbox.

Q3 2024 was the best Q3 ever for console usage and monthly active devices.

There’s more people playing and spending money on xbox consoles than ever before.

They jumped off the console wars train a long time ago. This was always the goal.

Y’all coming back every month and pretending to be surprised by the results of their deliberate strategy is hilarious at this point.

Can’t figure out if you are trolling or Bat shyt crazy :ohhh:
Consoles cost money to make brother package and ship . they don’t come from a stork in the sky. Phil already hinted if shyt don’t improve who knows what can happen

And they are selling enough, and supporting them in a way that they have the most active and paying users they’ve ever had on consoles :ehh:

No. He was very direct in saying hardware will continue and xbox is positioned well :ehh:

Stuck on hardware sales

:mjlol:
Because when you hear Microsoft’s CEO talk about gaming and see their hardware sales collapsing it gives every indication of the path forward for them in gaming. Nadella is gleeful they're putting their software on platforms it can sell on. Same Nadella that had Game Pass metrics pulled off his bonuses cause it wasn't hitting their targets.

In a decade they're probably just making software and not console hardware because the sales don't justify making hardware. Maybe they turn Xbox into a straight up branded pre-built PC for the next version they've been talking about.

without their own hardware they don't make money off Xbox Live/Gamepass, licensing fees, and their cut from all sales on their digital store, including microtransactions

Yup, they still sell 40-50 million consoles, thats a lot of revenue they would have to make up for.

Makes zero sense to stop xbox hardware outside of sony stan wishfull thinking.

The Xbox Series consoles are on track to sell worse than the Xbox One which was a complete disaster for the company. The market has spoken and with them putting their games on other platforms people are fleeing Xbox. How many quarters can hardware sales be down 30% year over year on numbers that were bad before they lost the 30% to begin with before Nadella just pulls the plug?

He doesn't sound like he gives a shyt about Xbox hardware.

They have R&D cost and sell the consoles at a loss. We went from the mid 80 million range on the Xbox 360 to about 58 million on the Xbox One. The way the Xbox Series is looking could be in the 40 million range. At some point the business of selling games on other people's hardware is going to be more lucrative to them than selling games on their hardware. Activision Blizzard basically doubled their revenue and that company's games mostly exist multi-platform.

I think people are missing the point, even aside the console hardware sales. The gaming revenue and services aren’t growing either, Infact they are declining. The ABK purchase disguises it for the time being but even ABK itself isn’t growing. We will start to see the actual growth next year when they stop unaccounting for the ABK revenue. At this time any growth they have is directly from M&A but thats not really sustainable.

One thing Microsoft were very truthful about during the regulations trials is that they definitely did need ABK to move forward with gaming. Everything else has stalled. This is about more than just hardware

Not only that but they expect even more declines for all sectors minus ABK next quarter.

If you deduct ABK from that it means they are losing money on hardware, subscriptions, and software sales. That means zenimax (fallout games), the ports to other consoles , Hellblade 2, console revisions, and whatever else is not expected to make any money this upcoming quarter
