When Amazon started employees at $15 hr and made commercials about it. :pachaha:

:unimpressed: . They got the people working in subhuman conditions while wasting hundreds of millions in corporate roles figuring out Alexa :mjlol: . These corporate dikkriders will cosign any vanity project and wasteful spending in chasing unsustainable growth but cry foul when the inevitable layoffs and department shuttering happen.

Amazon in particular wastes millions on dumb shyt instead of improving things for low level employees. The bread and butter of the company.

But this is about corporate wfh so I guess spying on employees in their own homes is a form of going the extra mile to monitor employees :dead:

TWitter didn't even pay severances to all the people they announced they would offer it to :dead:. Will be sued bc the law required a certain notice to be delivered when mass layoffs would take place :mjlol:

It is funny watching these companies shoot themselves in the foot.

They've been able to strangle the market because smaller businesses found it harder to be competitive with their salary. WFH allows smaller businesses to cut costs on lease and provide workers with greater flexibility.

Weird that Twitter is being used as an example in this on the back of a significant leak and the loss of clients. To top it all off, Twitter has not paid rent and the building stinks it is not being cleaned and stocked. Really showing the merits of working full time in the office.

Didn't Disney fire a whole department of greybeards, but made them train the off shore team first?
Sounds like a trash place to work

This come back to the office stuff with be a competitive disadvantage for recruiting, some industries and roles that doesn't matter but for the ones that do you will lose your best people and won't be able to attract people out there with options.

The CEO isn't a fan of remote work that companies were forced into implementing, during the pandemic. In 2021, he told a conference the practice was "an aberration that we are going to correct as quickly as possible," Bloomberg reported. "This is not ideal for us and it's not a new normal," he said at the time.

Goldman Sachs is expected to fire about 3,200 workers starting on Wednesday — a massive bloodbath that bankers at the firm are calling “David’s Demolition Day,” The Post has learned.

Word of the layoffs by hard-charging chief executive David Solomon spread at the Wall Street giant’s headquarters in downtown Manhattan on Friday after a partner in the wealth management division was overheard telling a colleague that culling would begin the following week, sources said.

I'm just saying....

I think the calculus is the same as raising wages though. If most competitors raise wages, most will follow. 12 an hr was a fight until a bunch of companies went to 14 and 15.

If there are fewer WFH options…. where are most of these people going to go?

I can't argue against WFH but personally, I don't want to be at home like that all the time. Like...I've done WFH and it's cool to be remote and stuff.

But I like to be out. They make all that money, they can pay for the electricity, have tech support on deck, buy my coffee etc. Y'all wanna be Japan? Hella inside.

When the real labor folks get fed up with your pajamas asses, what you finna do? Again, not against remote work but for some of the jobs y'all do? Psssshhh shyt

Now, Disney? them people is taking work home anyway so let em have it.

Overall, I can't call it. But I find it funny folks wanna work remote then complain about gas prices, delivery fees and inflation. It's insensitive, to say the least, to people that MUST be outside.

Everything has a trade off. Accept that. nikkas is two steps away from voluntary slavery in they own home. Be a damn human.
if you can do your job from your home, then why not? If you CHOSE to be a cop, firefighter, EMS, construction etc, how the fukk would you do your job to begin with at the house. It's just an example of control, people fukking around at home will fukk around at the office too.

How exactly is making people come in who dont need to come in, gonna make your company more profits?
Because instead of watching porn, doing laundry, fukking, binging Netflix, browsing the internet, drinking wine, playing video games, sleeping etc they will actually be doing work?
