The Deep State
Michelle and Barack just make up shyt that sounds interesting.

Deep down they know their legacy is tarnished as black people began to wake up. We were supposed to be the ones to catapult them to Malcolm and Martin status as white people try to attack and white wash their history but they fell painfully short. :francis:

Just like you're from Detroit but can never state which part, right? I'm not fukking with you today.
:unimpressed:

I could say which part if I wanted to. :jbhmm:What you don't seem to get is that... you tryna press me on something as if your opinion is supposed to disturb me ain't gon work on me.

I'd much rather NOT tell you where I'm from, just cause I know it irritates you, than to fold to you. :russ:

What do I look like, explaining myself to some random dude on the internet, feeling like I gotta prove myself? I ain't gotta prove myself to you, dude.

The more you try and press me, the more Imma be like :manny: and never tell you, cause I know it bothers you :pachaha:

If you think that I go about my day asking myself "Why won't @neotheflyingone tell me what part of Detroit he's from? That's bullshyt!", then you're a fool.
:mjlol:

I just find it odd. That's all. No one is pressing you, so cut it out.

Above the fray.
I honestly think George Dubya is getting that white stimulus.

But I was sepcifically speaking within the black community not as a whole. White people will view him as a bastion of tolerance and immigrants (if they haven't white identified yet will look to him as having open the door to opportunities.

I honestly do not see what is that one thing future black generations can point to and say he has done that has a lasting effect for them
Not sure if you're trolling with the answer about W.

Your opinion about future generations is yours, but I'm trying to figure out what it's based on. Most Black people that I've known place a high priority on education. While in office, Obama helped to increase access to training, education, degrees, and loans and grants for students.

For those who value education, providing additional resources and access for it would have a lasting effect on their families.

I understand why you would feel that way but there are nuances to politics and race that only someone born and raised in this country within multiple generations can understand.

I understand that it's extremely difficult for any black man to get something positive done within the context of white supremacy.
But to simplify for the sake of time, it wasn't that he didn't enact progressive policies (that disproportionately benefit non black people) its also his overall attitude toward black people that has us disenfranchised.

Like people were saying earlier in the thread, just because you don't THINK it can happen does not mean you dont try. His overall attitude toward the black plight waa dismissive and as a result black people have the perception (imo correctly) that ge didnt bother to even try to push legislation that would elevate BLACK AMERICANS and shorten economic gap betweem blacks and other races. Hope that makes sense.

The part about his attitude is the one argument I don't understand.
I understand the backlash against Bill Cosby because his attitude towards black people was very clear (he was pompous). But I just have never seen Obama reach that Bill Cosby level. I saw him stay mad quiet when black deaths were happening on his watch, but I understood that were he to even broach that topic all he would get as a result is either impeachment or death (the payment for MLK and Malcom X's troubles). Aframs couldn't save MLK, nor Malcom X from their fates, and they wouldn't be able to save Obama if he were really under attack by both parties, and I do not mean this as an attack on my fellow brehs :whoa:. But it is my cold understanding of the demographical numbers for Aframs and the meaning of power in America.

There was MLK, there was Malcom X and then there's Obama. The former two were leaders of actual black organizations, so their allegiance was strictly towards black people and causes pertaining to Aframs, the latter became a leader to not a movement, but a government heavily steered by white people so his allegiance is naturally split.

I don't know if you see what I'm saying but to me that makes sense.

There is no indubitably elevating black americans when you're the leader of a house and your whole team is white...and the other team (the opps) is white too and just waiting for you to clearly show favoritism to move in on you and take you out the game with the quickness. All you're left with as a reason for any action is the benefit for the Republic, not to one specific group.

And trust me that if Obama were to go off-script and outwards call out America for it's stance on the black plight all that would happen is that you'd have another martyr...the front door isn't open for black change, you're a minority so the back door is all you've got left.

Sad? Yes, very...but power works that way. Until you economically step up, just like the nazi victims did. You want fair treatment, you've got to hold something by the nuts...that's step one.
