cac gonna cac than, but at the same thing this is a community issues when young men grow up only focusing on sports and rap. Whites do it too but most of the time they go to college (parents force them too) while black parents only on focus on their kids making it into the big league just to buy them a house.

Growing up all I heard was "my boy is gonna be a football or basketball star" nikkas didnt even get high enough on the SATs. Now its too late for them to smarten up, they give up hope and fall off.

Gonna make sure my kids put them books first and sports last.

I'm sure this could be defended with her speaking to a black audience so she related it to them.

A lot of the things she said, except the specific stats about black children, are true of children of other races as well.

I can't criticize her on this one based off the fact she's talking at a black college.....Y'all need to fall back,I've never seen Michelle try to distance herself from black people so she can criticize....now Obama on the other hand bein that he has imo tried to distance himself,even though I know he probaly had to it still rubs me the wrong way when he criticizes,plus I don't think he came up among black people like Michelle......so I don't know it just feels different coming from him even when its valid....it would be like Drake makin songs talkin down on what black folks do,and what we need to do to get our communitys right

For starters her audience is exactly the opposite of what she is preaching about. The article says that she spoke to Bowie State graduates...but why? I mean it's pretty obvious that her audience isn't the best example of what she's referring to.

Why didn't she take herself a few miles down to those crumpled, roach infested hoods of DC and speak to the people who needed to hear it?
