I never said I was impartial. You couldnt even get the year Reagan was elected right he won in 1980

The chart had Reagan with 8% GDP growth and that chart didn't show inflation being fixed.

Carter's economy is something everybody agrees was awful and Reagan's policies by his 3 year showed vast improvement over what happened prior most of your compatriots don't dispute it but try to give the credit to Volker

I never said I was impartial and Reagan was a game changer he was able to get policies passed and had a huge net tax cut. There was an increase in debt and increase in some taxes but you can't get everything you want with a democratic congress...he had to give a little for the majority of his policies to be implemented. Job creation under Reagan was epic vs Carter
You said Reagan turned the economy around by his second year, when in reality the economy went from positive back to negative. You said Reagan was handed a worse economy than Obama, which by UE, job loss rates, GDP growth, any metric was false. The Carter economy even at its worst was in no way comparable to what Obama got. So lets not talk about "not getting facts right".

And regarding who republicans promote.... job creators, often at the expense of the rest of the country. Again, that rest of the country including you.

You keep claiming to not be a Fox News meat puppet, but you sure do seem to spout the same hollow talking points and have the same lack of understanding + respect for facts that a Fox News meat puppet does. So if I address you as such you have to forgive me.

When President Reagan entered office in 1981, he faced actually much worse economic problems than President Obama faced in 2009.* Three worsening recessions starting in 1969 were about to culminate in the worst of all in 1981-1982, with unemployment soaring into double digits at a peak of 10.8%.* At the same time America suffered roaring double-digit inflation, with the CPI registering at 11.3% in 1979 and 13.5% in 1980 (25% in two years).* The Washington establishment at the time argued that this inflation was now endemic to the American economy, and could not be stopped, at least not without a calamitous economic collapse.
All of the above was accompanied by double -igit interest rates, with the prime rate peaking at 21.5% in 1980.* The poverty rate started increasing in 1978, eventually climbing by an astounding 33%, from 11.4% to 15.2%.* A fall in real median family income that began in 1978 snowballed to a decline of almost 10% by 1982.* In addition, from 1968 to 1982, the Dow Jones industrial average lost 70% of its real value, reflecting an overall collapse of stocks...

These economic policies amounted to the most successful economic experiment in world history.* The Reagan recovery started in official records in November 1982, and lasted 92 months without a recession until July 1990, when the tax increases of the 1990 budget deal killed it.* This set a new record for the longest peacetime expansion ever, the previous high in peacetime being 58 months.
During this seven-year recovery, the economy grew by almost one-third, the equivalent of adding the entire economy of West Germany, the third-largest in the world at the time, to the U.S. economy.* In 1984 alone real economic growth boomed by 6.8%, the highest in 50 years.* Nearly 20 million new jobs were created during the recovery, increasing U.S. civilian employment by almost 20%.* Unemployment fell to 5.3% by 1989.

As a result, while the Reagan recovery averaged 7.1% economic growth over the first seven quarters, the Obama recovery has produced less than half that at 2.8%, with the last quarter at a dismal 1.8%.* After seven quarters of the Reagan recovery, unemployment had fallen 3.3 percentage points from its peak to 7.5%, with only 18% unemployed long-term for 27 weeks or more.* After seven quarters of the Obama recovery, unemployment has fallen only 1.3 percentage points from its peak, with a postwar record 45% long-term unemployed.

:childplease:

People always seem to leave out the effects of monetary policy on recessions.

Its pretty fukking close, not to mention, when you factor in the labor participation rate Reagan did not have it as bad

At the same time America suffered roaring double-digit inflation, with the CPI registering at 11.3% in 1979 and 13.5% in 1980 (25% in two years).* The Washington establishment at the time argued that this inflation was now endemic to the American economy, and could not be stopped, at least not without a calamitous economic collapse.

Fair enough, I guess, but when you factor in the spikes in cost of the 3Hs a lot of Americans are not better

Poverty rate is 14.3 and quickly rising. Also high interest rates are bad for debt holders, but GOOD for savers... back then you could park your debt with the govt and get a double digit return no problem, which went away once Reagan started monetizing "prosperity"

Plus, what does what happened to the Dow from 68 to 82 is irrelevant, esp when you consider from 68 to 90 the DJIA made zero gains, Black Monday happened in the twilight of dude's presidency, and the stock market made the same real gains from the bottom to top of 68-82 as it did over Obama's 1 term

We can do this all day

What effect do you think monetary policy had on Reagan's recovery?

What effect do you think monetary policy had on Obama's recovery?

Did Obama have anywhere near the stimulatory leeway Reagan did, in that regard?

What did Michelle Malkin say that wasn't true?

Americans that are entrepreneuers and risk takers who start up new businesses overwhelmingly vote Republican. Americans that live off the government for free food, free housing, free health care, etc overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

You left wing fakkits can't take the truth, huh????

Too much is being made over one commentator that doesn't affect the election. I could do hundreds of threads on the dumb things liberal commentators say. I don't agree with Michelle Malkins because it's not factual and I didn't like the tone because it plays into the untrue stereotype that republicans are for the rich

But ultimately I give Michelle the benefit of the doubt as a commentator not everything you say is going to be gold . I once mistakenly said that Richar Nixon created the NAACP

In 2004, Malkin reported on her website that her husband had left a "lucrative health-care consulting job" to be a stay-at-home dad.[66][69]

I stopped listening when I found out that she's supporting a bum ass white man.
