And Romney supporters over simplify it with that trickle down prosperity preaching bullshyt... "if you vote republican, a rich guy getting rich will benefit you, even if he gets rich by outsourcing your job, collecting interest on the govt monetizing debt and destroying YOUR currency, eradicating environmental and labor regulations, successfully lobbying for monopolies (i.e. cable TV territories), etc"

You Reagan fellators are so fukking stupid its downright hilarious. These nikkas are prosperity preaching, they are selling you dreams... People seem to feel like if they vote Republican they are all of a sudden "job creators" and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Romney and shyt. Whats it gonna take to show these trickle down dream sellers don't give a shyt about you?

No sane person should ever believe that one politician can make your life better if your not the one learning the skills you need to make a good living by increasing your worth in the marketplace or developing the skills you have or capital you have into outlets that will increase your investments worth by supporting things or providing things that have a demand in the market place.

No republicans support politicians who can creat ethe best environment for this to happen. By having government not get in the way of product creation or expanding industries so that those with valuable skills and not so valuable skills have a landscape that will use them for their talents or have enough prosperous people that if you do decide to provide a product or service yourself that you can make a living off of enough customers who can afford your products or services. It's not altruistic it's simply a need based society that operates better than an intentional altruistic society. Whether somebody gives a shyt about me is irrelevant because if I am needed because of a skill or service I provide that value will ensure my prosperity regardless if I'm cared about or not.

No, she does it so that someone like yourself can feel like a "front of the check signer", and scoff at folks who have 99% more in common with you than the likes of Romney so that you buy into voting for shyt that helps Romney.

Note I am not even saying that Obama is much better, if at all, as he is so fukking clueless, but this whole properity preaching ideology adopted by the GOP is just brilliant. You have white folks on welfare railing against entitlements + supporting Romney, what part of the game is that lmao.

and they say democrats/liberals are the elitists :whoo:

They're both elitists. The question is: "Who has less of an illusion about it?"

And if you think this Randian fantasy is really the type of society that you want to live in, or any society has ever lived in, or the type of society that any Republican wants to live in, then you need to take a harder look at the historical record.

Republicans are that party huh. Strange then that after 8 years with a Republican president the economy went from booming to damn near GDD status. Strange then that govt debt as a % of GDP jumped from ~25% to ~60% under Reagan (undermining our currency & weakening the govt's position). Strange then that Republicans have offered no solutions to rising healthcare costs, or either of the other big Hs (housing + healthcare), even though those costs are financially crippling the avg American and keeping them from doing shyt like making investments, buying houses, etc. They didn't do shyt to fix those problems (all 3 of which, by the way, are caused by govt intervention) when they had control of Congress, they didn't do shyt to fix those problems when they had executive office, so what's different now?

Before you counter with your kneejerk "B-B-BUT THE DEMOCRATS DIDN'T".... let the records show, I never said they did :youngsabo: :yeshrug:

But Republican supporters love to tout their party as the party of capitalism and economic growth. All I'm saying is, OK, where's the proof? Can you point to any period in recent history where the Republicans didn't create prosperity.... that either wasn't built on a bubble (Bush housing bubble), or wasnt put on the back of the govt debt they so much despise (Bush tax cuts)? Let me know cause I havent seen it

This "Randian" fantasy you talk about is pretty much the default mode of the United States even to this day. It's the reason the country has been able to be so successful in such a short period of time. Yeh tax rates change and we go through bad times and bad presidents but it's a battle of margins for the most efficient environment and history shows my side of the aisle when implemented to have more success Kennedy and Clinton saw success when taxes were cut or welfare cut. So it's not as simple republican this or democrat that. If you want to believe that individual succes is a fantasy that's your perogative. But even to this day if you have marketable skills that are in need you can live a comfortable life. I'm not talking Mitt Romney lifestyle because that normally takes years and capitalizing on something before most others can and being right about that intuition, 60-100gs a year is reachable for those who acquire the skills and experience within their field.

Nobody is saying that.

What people ARE saying, is the individuals whose success is promoted by the Republicans, aren't individuals like US. Yes, that includes YOU. They have just developed rhetoric to convince you as such

What Looney said, partially.

One correction, Clinton INCREASED marginal tax rates by nearly 9%, and they were in the Black for those periods.

Also, what I was talking about was this: Regarding this product creation that you're talking about, one: We're supposedly attempting to "not get in the way of it" through tax breaks, bailouts and the like that have been doled out over the past 4 years or so, how's that product creation or expansion of industry going. In fact, How's that ever really worked? Mostly toward the creation of financial structures that create economic imbalances and negative externalities in the national political economy.

Two, why is it that people can't see that Republicans have always wanted a society that uses government like a parasite (see privatization and the waste that comes from it) than actually wanting any type of "efficiency" in government?

What individuals do republicans promote? I could care less about any political party it just happens that the party that claims to want to implement policies I believe in happen to be republican but they are just politicians and getting something passed regardless of intent is based on what the public is leaning towards and oppositions in congress from the opposing party and even your own party.

For the most part career politicians on both sides aren't like most Americans in fact I trust most working Americans to make better decisions when it comes to policy. You keep assuming I look at politicians like heroes who's words shouldn't be questioned.

I ultimately when it comes down to it that the governments role is simply to uphold the law and protect the borders and partake in things the free market wouldn't handle well like maintaining streets. I want an efficient government that doesn't hurt economic prosperity. You complain about deficits and debt but it's in place because of programs I don't believe in but have been there for so long that it's politically impossible to take away. My philosophies come from me simply believing in Classical Adam Smith economic model and Austrian economics models being better than Keynes and Marxism...not because John Behnor or Rush Limbaugh say tax cuts are good but they simply happen to believe the same thing I do and are in a position to either vote on it or be a voice.

For what??? I've put figures all over know the ledge and it doesn't matter because anybody can twist statistics for their liking and change a data point and make something look completely different. Someone else will post some garbage statistic and I end up wasting my time refuting each point when your going to believe what you want to believe anyway and your not going to let go of long held beliefs and hold on to your cognitive dissonance. Jesu Christ can come down on a cloud and tell you your wrong and you won't believe so why should I waste my time.

The Clinton economy was aided by the creation of the Internet and his small tax increase was not going I blunt that. The figure show when he cut capital gains taxes there was also an increase in GDP. Also Clinton kept most of Reagan policies in place. Neither W Bush nor Clinton were really game changers on economics small percentage movements weren't going to drastically change the extenuating factors of an explosion of technology with the Internet and bank failures that were due to bad fed policy and housing policies in place since the 70s that Fannie Freddie stuff was going to pop no matter who was president unless someone made drastic changes a decade before it poppe off.

You dont worship politicians, you question their legacies huh

Werent you the guy who said Reagan got a worse economy than Obama and turned it around in 2 years... both of which turned out to be patently false?

Where would you get such misinformation from, if you are so impartial & truth hungry? I found what actually happened under Reagan's tenure w/about 3 minutes of Googling

Dont play coy with us bruh we are not fukking idiots.

I never said I was impartial. You couldnt even get the year Reagan was elected right he won in 1980

The chart had Reagan with 8% GDP growth and that chart didn't show inflation being fixed.

Carter's economy is something everybody agrees was awful and Reagan's policies by his 3 year showed vast improvement over what happened prior most of your compatriots don't dispute it but try to give the credit to Volker

I never said I was impartial and Reagan was a game changer he was able to get policies passed and had a huge net tax cut. There was an increase in debt and increase in some taxes but you can't get everything you want with a democratic congress...he had to give a little for the majority of his policies to be implemented. Job creation under Reagan was epic vs Carter
