Nah, Mike’s guy Neri killed her. They had the hooker drug the senator, Neri killed her while he was passed out thus making him believe he did it. Tom covered it up so the senator owed Mike a favor.

Is that how that situation played out in the book? I’ve seen the movie 20 times and always was under the impression the senator killed her.
is there any dialogue that implies the Corleones killed her? I thought it was heavily implied he killed her.

I don't recall Godfather 2 being in the book. The Godfather book covered the flashback scenes of vito though but the rest of Godfather 2 wasn't in the book from what I recall.

Haven't watched in a bit but Roth was behind most if not all of trouble Michael was facing in PART 2.

The senator was drugged. He said he knew the chick and they hooked up several times before. As you know he popped off at Mike and shytted on their race and family and he wouldn't sign off on some hotel/casino shyt they desperately needed.. Mike and them got the scoop on the hooker the senator fukks with, maybe got the info from Fredo since he became the Vegas/Nevada plug, and set it where this time the senator gets drugged and Neri kills the hooker in their hotel room. Tom Hagen quickly jumps in and calms the scared shytless senator and just like that they have him in the palms of their hands to do whatever they tell him to do from here on out. That whole shyt was set up, planned, and prepped perfectly.
All the Godfather shyt is finding a weakness, angle, loophole to shyt. During the sitdown The Turk saw that Sonny liked the drug deal that was being discussed but The Don said no. So the Turk feels that he has to kill the Don. The Senator pops off at the mouth then they find out what hooker he fukks with- done deal. The movie producer Waltz is infatuated with his horses- got 'em. Jimmy Ola and Roth knew that Fredo wanted more power and to do his own shyt on the side.. easy access to get at Michael now.
